  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
So you're saying they're giving up Dwayne Wade for Rondo (who they will need to resign for decent $ if they want to keep him), and the priveldge of having Ray Allen as a trade chip, as opposed to not trading Dwayne Wade and resigning him and still being enough under the cap to sign someone else?

That makes absolutely no sense. No sense in any kind of world. Dwayne Wade is without a doubt the 2nd best free agent in 2010. Why under any circumstances would they trade him? Ray Allen doesn't help their cap flexibility. Dwayne Wade has a player option for next season, which he will most likely exercise, so that's the same amount of expiring $.

The only way it would even be feasible is if Wade told Miami publicly that he would not resign.

Last I knew, his stance was "I love Miami, I want to stay here, that's the plan."

  • Rondo = Good

leaving aside the speculative nature of this for a sec..

am I the only person who is kinda down on Wade?

all the home life stuff, the performance enhancer stuff, injuires....I don't know. he's been rubbing me the wrong way for a while.

I'd rather try to swing a three way deal if Wade is really looking to be moved....with SAC?

MIA gets: Ray and Rondo

BOS gets: Kevin Martin and #4 (Nocioni too?)

SAC gets: Wade and Chalmers

so essentially we'd be giving up a future hall-of-famer SG, and a near future All star PG, for the rising star of Kevin Martin and an uncertain draft pick. I'd rather, Miami gets Rondo and Martin, we get the 4 and Wade (who frankly has proved himself more than K-Mart has), and The Kings get Ray and probably some future first rounders.

Not to be down on Kevin Martin, but I'm really unsure about his unorthidox shot being successful for much longer, people will figure it out.

Uhm, give Kevin Martin more credit.  It's not that he's successful just because he has a weird shot.

That said: Kevin Martin vs D Wade....hahah what a joke, Wade is so much better.

Garbage.

Who are the heat going after that's better than Wade? Lebron - doubtfull....

I think Wade is overrated - but the Heat still dont do it. I could see them wanting Rondo, but why rebuild when you already have one of the better guys in the league?? Makes no sense!

I don't want stuff like this getting overly personal or out of hand, so lets just take the rumor with whatever grain of salt you want

to the original poster, if you could give us some context as to how your friend would know this information (and I'm talking about more than just following the league like the rest of us) then that would lend some credibility to your claims

otherwise, I suggest that if people don't believe this rumor, then it serves little purpose to say so more than once - it has been pointed out that this is a hard-to-believe rumor (at best) - lets leave it at that

I want people with legit rumors to feel comfortable sharing them here.  On the other hand, I support people (POLITELY) challenging rumors that seem too outlandish because that might keep people from blatantly making stuff up.

thanks everyone

I would like to believe that the C's are really involved in this rumor. Wade + Paul + KG! It would be a blast!

Wouldn't the OP be better served by calling this a trade proposal rather than a rumor?

I feel like a rumor is something that tends to have inside knowledge of the inner workings of one or both teams that acknowledge there is something to it. A trade proposal is more in the line of fans deducing a situation and coming up with an idea for a trade.

This kind of thing falls more into the latter than it does the former. Sorry, Nut from nh, but this is a trade proposal your friend created, not a rumor.

Hobbs and anyone else who has been upset to their core by my post, allow me to enlighten you on the definition of a RUMOR

"an unverified account or explanation of events circulating from person to person and pertaining to an object, event, or issue in public concern"

This is what a rumor is, and what follows is how i heard of the rumor that has upset you so...

Hobbs will tell you the following is a lie but here goes...

we're driving in boston to eat in the north end and then hit some bars (my friends birthday, we ate at Limoncellos, food was incredible but they only serve three kinds of beers, i had an amstell).  I said "hey have you heard the latest rumors", and by that i meant the rumors about danny wanting to get into the top 5 of the lottery and he's like ya, wade, I know.  Obviously i was like what are you talking about and he said he heard it on the radio.  I didn't even ask if it was eei, bc you just assume he's talking about eei.  I posted this pretty much first thing this morning, fully expecting that many  many others here would have heard what he was refering to and that nobody had posted it yet.

This obviously deserves significant ridicule, and accusations that i am dishonest and made it up.  It's like, wow.  now i remember why i quit coming here for the last 2 years.  i just don't get the instant hostility.  i didn't think for one second this would happen, i just assumed that i hadn't caught it on eei.  I plan on calling him later to ask which station he heard it on and when.  he said they were talking about an expanded phx suns trades too, besides the old amare stuff, just a different version that i hadn't heard before, as well as a couple shaq rumors, so it sounded to me like there was some good radio talk going on.

the personal attacks and everything else are just so pathetic, its rumors.  go back again and read the definition, and if your still angy and upset then you should get some Jesus in your life, seriously.

2 things

1) If this was on EEI, the rumor doesn't come from your friend, who we thought was "in the know" but a radio source - maybe he wasn't refering to the celtis? maybe there's a different wade rumor out there?  I too would be surprised if your friend was the only one who caught something like this

2) Get a little Jesus in your life? Really....?

Bonus) Amstell? Now I know you have no credibility   ;)

Me and Danny Ainge are summer camp buddies and he says the Celtics have had 0 talk about Dwayne Wade.

Prove me wrong.
