Then they were playing odds and asked them the chances they thought Steve Nash would end his career with the New York Knicks .
Wilbon said" He won't finish his career with the knicks, it's going to be with the Boston Celtics" . The funny thing is earlier in the show Wilbon said he played golf with Doc Rivers the other day. HMMMMMMM
Amare and Nash coming to Boston? lol
I actually think this could happen.
How, exactly? Realistically.
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachineBos sends: Rondo, Ray, Perk, Scal
Pho sends" Nash , Barbosa, Stoudamire,
I am going to compare players by talent
Nash VS RayAt this point in their careers Nash and Ray are pretty even in age, talent and numbers.
Last season Nash still averaged better than his career avg's.
Nash avg'd 15.7 PPG, 9.7APG 92%FT'S , 50% FG'S and 43% 3PFG'S
Those are still terrific numbers he is putting up and he gives us the same quality outside shooter as Ray was in our starting lineup. You know he is going to be hungry for a title so the drive is going to be there, and he is in a contract year with a 12 MIL expiring contract.
Winner = Tie
Rondo VS StoudamireThis is the centerpiece of this trade. Rondo is a jump shot away from being a franchise player and Stoudamire is some defensive toughness away from being a top 5 NBA Player. Stoudamire is easily a top player in the low post on offense. Averages 9 RPG and is still only 26 YEARS OLD! He even shoots his free throws well, shooting 83% in 2008-09.
Because I think defensive toughness is easier to learn than a consistent jump shot, and because I think Stoudamire is a top 5 NBA talent I have to make the trade off between him and Rondo.
Winner: Stoudamire slightly
Perk VS BarbosaPerk is a great Defensive minded C and a great team player . He should make a few All Defensive teams before his career is over, but he is never going to be a great offensive player. Has has a championship ring , so that counts for something
Barbosa is a very good shooter 40% 3P% and 82% FT shooter for his career. He isn't a great one on one defender, but within a team defense like the Celtics could be good enough. Still only 26 years old and an explosive scorer.
Winner : Perk Slightly
I think this a pretty even trade
