1)Pheonix
Pheonix sends - Jason Richardson + Barbosa
Boston sends - Ray + TA or Giddens
Why for Pheonix- they are able to dump salary and free up another 20 mil on the cap for the Big 2010-2011 free agents. They would be well under the cap and able to make a run at Lebron or Wade to team up with Amare Stoudamire
Pheonix 2010 -11 Payroll would be about $25 Mil = 33 mil under the salary cap
Why for Boston- Jason Richardson is a nice 3rd option to have on your team. He is 5 years younger than Ray so we would have Ray's replacement already lined up for the next 5 years. He is a career 18 PPG scorer and is coming off a season where he shot 40% from 3 pt land. He also has the ability to be a very good- great defender with his athleticism. Boston would also be getting a very good scorer off the bench in Barbosa
2) New Orleans
New Orleans send - Tyson Chandler, Antonio Daniels and Posey -
Boston sends - Ray Allen, BBD (S+T 4 yr 20 mil) Pruitt
Why for New Orleans - New Orleans is desperate to cut payroll. They even tried to trade chandler last year for not too much in return. Just Wilcox and Jow Smith. I would say that BBD is pretty close to Wilcox talent wise and he is also a hometown boy from Louisiana where he led LSU to the final 4. They would also be getting about 20 mil in cap room after next season which would make them be able to be players in the 2010-2010 Free Agency
New Orleans 2010 -11 Payroll would be about $46 Mil = 12 mil under the salary cap
Why for Boston - While this trade probably hurts Boston's Offense, it greatly improves the Defense. Posey is still a great 6th man coming off the bench, Antonio Daniels is a solid backup PG, but the reason I love this trade is because we are getting a dominant Defensive Big Man in return. I know he has had a few little injury problems the last few years , but they were nothing serious so I wouldn't be concerned with his health. He is easily a top 5 Defensive Big man, great shot blocker and finishes strong at the rim.
3) Dallas
Dallas sends - Josh Howard + Eric Dampier
Bos sends - Ray Allen + Scal, maybe a pick or prospect
Why for Dallas = Like the other teams its all about the money. This would save them 22 mil off the cap for the 2010-2011 free agents. They would be able to load up with talent as they would be about 17 or 18 mil under the salary cap to try and buil around Nowitzki 1 more time .
Dallas 2010 -11 Payroll would be about $42 Mil = 16 mil under the salary cap
Why for Boston - Howard is a very good defender and scorer and would be a huge benefit to Paul Pierce by cutting down on his minutes because Howard plays SF. He would be a great 6th man coming in for PP. We obvioulsy would have to find a solid stating SG who can play D and Kncok down some open shots. We would also be getting Dampier who is a legit backup Center. I know he makes 10 mil but his deal is only 1 year longer than Rays so it wouldn't be a long term contract we were getting back.
4) Golden State
Golden State sends - Jamal Crawford + Corey Magette or Stephen Jackson
Boston sends - Ray Allen (18 mil expiring) TA or Scal( 3 mil expiring)
Why for Golden State = They clearly aren't going to be contending for a championship anytime soon with their curret roster so why not try to free up Cap Space to try and land a big fish. This deal would put them about 15 mil under the Cap for the 2010-2011 free agents. With that money they could sign Chris Bosh and team him up with Monta Ellis, Biedrins and probably Magette to make them a fun team that has a chance to grow into contenders.
Golden State 2010 -11 Payroll would be about $43 Mil = 15 mil under the salary cap
Why for Boston = Jackson and Magette are very similar and both can play both SG and SF which could help PP out. I would perfer Magette , but Golden State is more likely to deal Jackson who is 3 years younger than Ray Allen. Jacksonn is a good shooter and can defend. He already won a ring with the spurs and played big in the finals so you know he wont affraid to take big shot . We would also be getting a useful scorer off the bench in Jamal Crawford for certain situations.
5) Milwaukee
Milwaukee sends- Michael Redd + Gadzuric
Boston sends - Ray , Scal, Giddens or Walker
Why for Milwaukee - They aren't near winning a championship either. They would be getting Ray Allen back( he started his career there) in a contract year and like everyone else they would be cutting 20 mil off their cap for the 2010-2011 Free Agents. They would also be getting a young swing man in either Giddens or Walker who have some decent potential to turn into good pros.
Milwaukee 2010- 11 Payroll would be about $40 Mil = 18 mil under the salary cap
Why for Boston - This would be a dream scenario for boston because they would basically being getting Ray Allen, but 4 years younger. Thats how good of a shooter Michael Redd is. If Danny could ever pull this one off , he would be the best GM of all time !
6) Charlotte
Charlotte sends - Raja Bell, DeSagana Diop + Boris Diaw
Boston sends - Ray Allen, Scal and Pruitt
Why for charlotte - The players they are sending away in this trade are great role players on championship teams, but Charlotte is obviously not a conteder, so why not try and free up some cap space so they can be a contender some day. This is a trade where they a getting a big time star to join the franchise in Ray Allen, charlotte has never had a star as big as Ray on their team and you know how Larry Brown Loves vets.
Charlotee 2010 -11 Payroll would be about $34 Mil = 24mil under the salary cap
With that kind of cap room they could add 1 or maybe to impact players to a core of Okafor, Wallace, Augustine and Felton. Thats a pretty good young tream with cap space.
Why for Boston - While Boston is clearly sending away the best player in the deal, they might be able to fill more holes in the roster this way. They are getting a legit hard nosed starting SG, who is a ver good outside shooter in Raja Bell. They are also getting a very versatile Big man off the bench in Diaw who is a very good scorer and passer. They would also be getting Diop who can be that legit backup center we are looking for
