Welcome to the blog.  It's gotta feel good to get that first post out of the way.

I'm a huge Ray Allen fan, and Rondo has top-5 PG potential, but for CP3, yeah, you do that trade without thinking twice.

As far as trading for a PG straight up the only one in the league I would take is Paul.  Nash is too old, Harris isn't a true PG, and I just think Rondo is a better fit on this team than Deron Williams.  Mo Williams?  No thanks.

Of course trades aren't always made for straight up positions, but Paul is the only other guy in the league I would want running this team.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

welcome to celticsblog.

as for the trade.... i would like the celtics to do it, but i doubt NO would agree to it.

nice to dream though.

I'm not convinced I would want that trade to happen.
Right now I'm leaning towards saying no, but I promise I'm going to think about it a little bit.

Sorry but I gotta disagree a lil bit. I would take CP3 or Deron or Rose straight up for Rondo. CP3 and Dwill are #1 and 2 in the league and Rose can finish better and shoot better, the rest will come for him soon.

. . . I just think Rondo is a better fit on this team than Deron Williams.

How so?  Williams can defend, shoot, and score.  I'd assume he'd be a good fit on every team in the NBA.  I like Rondo, but Williams is simply better (and I think he'll remain better.)

Sorry but you can't trade Ray Allen and Rondo for CP3. Their salaries don't add up. The incoming salaries must be within 125% plus 100k of each other. Chris Paul gets paid 4.6 million. Compared to Rondo and Ray's combined 19.7 million dollars. Good thought though.

Which makes the possibilities of adding people like David West and James Posey into the formula fascinating.

If I was serious about trading Ray and Rondo, I'd be calling George Shinn first and calling my bank to prepare a bag of money for him.

I think you're looking at outdated salary information.  Next season, CP3 earns $13,758,000.  125% + $100k of that is $17,297,500.  The trade still doesn't work, but it's fairly close, to the point where the trade could be tweaked to make it work.  For instance, make us take back Antonio Daniels salary, which evens this out a bit.  (By the way, Ray + Rondo = $21,871,782).

Shinn, old buddy, how would you like Tony Allen and Scal in this deal also?

And a bag of cash?

Call me crazy but right now with Rajon's low salary and his potential and I wouldnt trade him period! Guy's who control the game in so many ways as he does just dont come along often. I realize he isnt a good shooter but he will improve in this area a lot and soon. Time will tell but the only way I can see trading him is if we were to get another top 10 pg, a quality make that high quality bench player and possibly a pick but even then it's hard.

Huge Rondo fan, I think he's the third best PG in the league. But, if we could get CP3 for him I'd do it in a sec.

What makes anyone think New Orleans would trade CP3? He's the face of that franchise not to mention a MVP canandite.
