  • Rondo = Good
Huge Rondo fan, I think he's the third best PG in the league. But, if we could get CP3 for him I'd do it in a sec.

What makes anyone think New Orleans would trade CP3? He's the face of that franchise not to mention a MVP canandite.

They'd only do it if Chris Paul really really wanted out of there because they are clearly on the road to being not so great for the next few years, and obviously also to save money.

But I don't think they are quite at the point yet where Paul would demand such a thing, but I have a feeling it'll happen a couple seasons from now.

Call me crazy but right now with Rajon's low salary and his potential and I wouldnt trade him period! Guy's who control the game in so many ways as he does just dont come along often. I realize he isnt a good shooter but he will improve in this area a lot and soon. Time will tell but the only way I can see trading him is if we were to get another top 10 pg, a quality make that high quality bench player and possibly a pick but even then it's hard.
Crazy!

Rondo's salary is only low this year.

Deron will improve too. Rose will also continue to improve. Rondo is not the only player with room to improve.

It would be a waste of time to discuss CP as trading for him is a no brainer.

I think fans need to be wary of expecting Rondo to learn to do what Deron/CP/Rose/Parker/etc can do, while not thinking that other players can learn to do what Rondo does. Why should we think that Rondo has a better chance of improving his weaknesses than other players?

I can't believe Paul would be traded.  Trading an incredible young star who hasn't shown any attitude or behavioral problems and hasn't demanded a trade: that would be unprecedented.  Might as well just sell the team.  No, they'll unload eveyone else first.

Nor is there any way Deron Williams is being traded either.  BTW, the only reason I'd trade Rondo for Williams is that Williams would be a better fit with the Big 3 for the next two seasons.  I think Rondo will ultimately be the better player.

2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Don't sign me up.

Again, as good as CP3 is, what has he proven?  Nothing.

The current Celtics team has proven that when healthy, they're easily the best team in basketball.  If they actually replenish the bench they had two years ago and accompany that with the upgrades the have in the starting lineup (improvements with Perk and Rondo, Ray fitting in better) and they have the potential to be historically good.

Is there a chance CP3 makes them even better than that?  Maybe.

But I don't see why you gamble a couple of potentially epic seasons on that.

Williams is about 2 years older than Rondo and he's played about 50% more minutes. Rondo at the all-star break in 2011 will be at about the point Deron is at now. I'd expect more improvement from Rondo.
