Charlotte gets: Ray Allen, Scals, TA
Boston gets: Diaw, Bell, Wallace

Not sure if the Bobcats do this trade but if they are desperate to shed cash this could be huge for boston.

starting 5

Rondo
Pierce
Wallace
KG
Perk

Bench

House
Bell
Diaw
baby
Walker

Can we switch Diaw for Vlad Rad instead?

The one thing I don't like is PP playing at SG.  But you have:

Rondo
Pierce
Wallace
KG
Perk

House
Bell
Vlad Rad
baby
Powe

I'd rather have Diaw than Vlad Rad, if for no other reason than he can play Point Forward and allow Eddie to roam the three point line.

that could work but i was thinking Wallace is too good to coime off the bench? maybe not tho. And i'd much rather have Diaw. he could even play 5 sometimes.

I'm curious, why would you rather have Vlad Rad?  Bell could play the 2 and Pierce could stay at the 3. Both Wallace and Diaw could play minutes at the 4 and based on finances I'd think the C's wouldn't pay Baby.

I think if you have Wallace and Pierce, on offense they both play a "wing" as opposed to SG and SF. On defense, I do think you put Wallace on the quicker SGs and Pierce on the stronger SFs.

I like this better.  I don't want Pierce playing the 2.

I was trying to be a little realistic (we are asking for 3 of their 4 best players in Diaw, Bell and Wallace), and I like that Vlad has a cheaper, shorter contract.  Diaw seems to be playing well in CHA, would he play as well in BOS, or would he regress to his post contract lull in PHX?

That said, I would be fine with the OPs proposed trade.

  • Rondo = Good
Diaw is way way better than Vlad Rad, but asking for him would be asking too much.

Gerald Wallace is too good to come off the bench.

Gerald Wallace is probably questionable as a SG.  He plays SF and even PF at times for the Bobcats, after all, and he's not that great of a shooter - more of a driving / transition threat.

I'd love to get Raja Bell as a backup SG.

Diaw would actually be a great acquisition for the team because he can play SF, PF, and even C if necessary (he played C for the Suns at one point and did okay).

Bell, as I said, would be a great backup (but a substandard starter).

If somehow we could make a trade where we get Bell and Diaw off the bench and still have a solid starting SG, we'd be in great shape.  We'd still need a backup PG (assuming we don't keep Marbury) and a backup C with length, though.

I think Wallace and Diaw at the bench works out just fine. It's good to have one of your 5 best players coming from the bench, like the Nuggets (Smith) and Mavs (Terry) do it. Bell, as a starter, would be a great spot-up shooter, as a bench guy he would have to take a bit too big role. He's better as a defender and as a shooter. Getting Wallace and Diaw would be much more effective bench than a Bell-Diaw bench.

*My opinion.

Question for those of you interested in the trade:
Would you still do it if the Cs shipped off Paul Pierce instead of Ray Allen?

No. And neither would the Bobcats. I'm guessing they do the Ray Ray deal to get money off the books. Dont think they wants PP contract.
