I don't think we should tade Ray unless we are sure to get an all star caliber player
Why an all-star?

If moving Ray brings back several solid players that fill the current gaps on the team, it's a trade to consider.  A solid swingman, a good backup PF/C and a decent backup PG would fill 2 needs and also fill in Ray's spot at the same time.  If throwing in Scal and TA upgrades the quality of the returning swingman, even better.

Charlotte gets: Ray Allen, Scals, TA
Boston gets: Diaw, Bell, Wallace

Not sure if the Bobcats do this trade but if they are desperate to shed cash this could be huge for boston.

starting 5

Rondo
Pierce
Wallace
KG
Perk

Bench

House
Bell
Diaw
baby
Walker
(FA)
(FA)
I'm not sure Charlotte makes this trade but it's not a bad one for the C's.  Bell at the 2 is ok but I'm not sure Wallace would come off the bench.  I'd have to think about what other parts they have that would be a better fit.

Gerald Wallace, Raja Bell, and Alexis Ajinca for Ray Allen and JR Giddens?

I just don't like Wallace.  The would put three guys in the half court that can't shoot.

I think the trade makes us worse next year.  We can get better for Ray's expiring if we want to trade him which I really don't think should happen.  If KG is healthy next year we are in the hunt, if not, no matter what we get for Ray, we  probably won't be.  Can we trade Scal, 3 million to the suns for their training staff.  The dudes work miracles.
