Sadly, I bet Magic fans need that article to look 'intelligent.'  It sickens me when a bunch of fair weather, badwagon jumping fans get a shot at the title.  Magic fans embody everything that is wrong with sports.

At least last year the Cavs lost to a storied franchise with a rabid fan base that has existed for years.  I can come to terms with that.

I am pullig hard for the Lakers in this series.  I know a lot of you hate hearing that, but at least the Lakers have tradition on their side.  The Magic have a newspaper column that explains what the 24 second shot clock is

Yes a tradition that can never overshadow ours. Therefore the Magic must win.

In fairness...  how many Cavs fans could have been called hardcore prior to drafting Lebron?  From what I've seen, the city has always supported the Browns, but the Cavs fanbase wasn't anywhere near as healthy.

For instance, look at 2003, the year before Lebron:

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/attendance?year=2003

29th out of 29, playing to 56% of capacity.  The year after drafting him, the Cavs jumped to 9th, and progressively, as high as third.  The Cavaliers averaged 20,010 fans per home game this season, as compared to 11,496 the year before Lebron.  I don't want to call you out, but weren't Cavs fans the very definition of "fair weather, badwagon jumping fans"?

I can't deny that.  The Cavs were in a hard position then.  Decent team with terrible marketing.  There is an older fan base in Cleveland that was established during the Price, Daugherty, Nance and Ehlo days.  That fan base was still bitter about the Danny Ferry for Ron Harper trade.  But there was at least a tradition of a fan base in Cleveland.  Attendance is always going to fall when you have a bad team in  a poor city.

Couldn't you say that the Magic had a similar group of core fans from the Shaq years?

Possibly.  But why has it taken Orlando fans until right now to get excited and jump on the badnwagon.  They had Howard for years.  You would think they would have been chomping at the bit to watch him night in and night out. but they weren't.  People in Orlando don;t care about basketball.  Plain and simple.  Most people in Orlando were not born and raised there.  Their allegiance is most likely to another team.

Honestly, I don't have a problem if someone wants to jump on the bandwagon, I have a problem when that person jumps on and then tries to brag about it

Actually, when I was in Orlando, I was impressed with the amount of Magic stickers I saw around.  At the hotel, there was a big life size board of Howard, and on the road I saw a few cars with the magic stickers.  I also some some locals talking about them.  I noticed those things cuz it was a little different seeing Magic gear around.
Baby Jesus!

Too bad KG was hurt or they would have lost to that storied franchise again this year...

They werent a decent team at all...They were straight brutal.  The were trotting out DMiles, Ricky, Diop.  They were horrible.  They drafted with their top 5 picks, freaking Dajuan Wagner and Drew Gooden.  This squad was miserable.  I could see fans watching the Price and Daugherty team, but the late 90's(fat kemp days), and early 2000's they were probably the worst team in basketball...And if not the worst, the most hopeless...
