I honestly think they would love the trade...their All Stars..minus STAT are older than our stars...Nash/Shaq..

http://www.brightsideofthesun.com/2009/6/2/896960/strange-strange-amare-rumor#comments

They all argee its a better deal for them...than boston, and all wonder why we would trade away our PG.  Some good comments though!

As i said in another thread...  I would do this trade if and only if the suns bought out Ray and he would re-sign with us for cheap....

Then we could sign Steph M. and have the Big 4!  Baby and Powe could walk

Steph/Pruitt/House
Ray/House/JR-TA
PP/KG?? Walker-FA
KG/STAT/Scal
STAT/PERK/ FA

Fogot about Barbosa??

I guess we could then TRY to send BB in a sign and trade with Expiring deals of either T Allen, Pruitt, and our pick and cas for Noncioni in Sac.....

Steph(only because he knows our System) Barbosa/House
RAY/bARBOSA/HOUSE/JR
PP/NOCIONI/WALKER/KG
KG/STAT/SCAL
STAT/PERK/FA

if stephon was good enough to be the starting point on a contender(which i don't expect him to be) i'd be worried that his attitude would revert back. i'm not sayting the guy is evil or anything. outside of hoops he may be an awesome guy but he worries me even as a backup.

I had to respond to their banter. I've never done it before but felt the need today.

I just agree with one of the suns blogers posts...that on our team....Ray/PP/KG at full strength/health we could get away and win with out a shoot first PG.  Steph showed he can find the open man and be the facilitator on our squad....

I really think if this trade is on the table...I'd do if

A.  Ray gets bought out and returns

B. We use the #14 Pick, Big Baby S-n-T (5mil/6Mil) with TA or Pruitt, Walker/Giddens to Sac for Nicioni.

C. We sign Steph or J. Jack and either Powe cheap...and another back up Center.

If STAT agrees to a decent extension, our windo of Championship level would be two years....and a young core of

LB, Nacioni, STAT and PERK.....not a bad future!!!

I agree with your post on their blog....I guess I may be a little in love with Rondo..meaning I would love to see him play in PHX alot...but if this rumor is to be true we do need a PG and Miller would be a great pick up in FA.  Long term KG mentoring STAT and grooming him...would be even more amazing if Rondo did end back in Boston!

This trade makes no sense.

  • Eagerly Awaiting the Next Fantasy Draft
The Suns leaked this "trade" to try and make it seem that Amare has a higher demand than he does, thus raising his price.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I would do that if nash was 5 years younger.

He's shown a marked decline over the past few years, and i don't think all of it is due to having shaq slowing down the offense.

I don't think nash is better than rondo at this point in their respective careers. Nash is aging with a bad back that is limiting his minutes, to many miles on him for us to consider this. You gain his shooting, but get he plays awful defense.

2004-2005 ish nash, i do it. Current nash, no thanks.

Well, if Ainge is considering this deal because he thinks Nash is better - or even equal to - Rondo at this point, then he's nuttier than even I think he is.

The ONLY way you make this deal is if you've got a youngster lined up at the point, which is why I don't even consider this deal without the Phoenix draft pick. Then, you use Nash as a bridge for a couple of years.

It's true that Nash isn't a good perimeter defender. However, our perimeter defense was every bit as bad as Phoenix' in the Orlando series.

I'd be shocked if Ainge was considering this deal, and surprised if he so much as attached his name to it - unless, of course, he's sending an off-season message to "work hard and be better when you return for training camp" to Rondo. I didn't see Grousbeck's statement that he's not going to extend Rondo this summer, as others have been reported, but if so, I applaud that. This isn't the time to overpay for a guy whose effort could improve.

The phoenix thread indicates to me exactly why the Celtics should move Rondo i.e. his value is overrated and you can get a lot for him.

And I get tired of saying this, but the value of PG's in general is extremely overrated.  See game 1 tonight for proof.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Yeah, they're valuing him clearly at what he could be, not what he is.
