Eddie Izzard who I find really funny

Ricky Gervais (from the English version of the office). Saw a cable speacial the other day and he was pretty funny.

Forgot to mention one...

Jimmy Carr is hilarious.  He is kind of like Britain's version of Mitch Hedberg, but kind of not.

I've got a friend who sees comedy like most people see music...and he swears Eddie Izzard is the funniest standup man right now.

My personal favorite is Mitch Hedberg. I find the way his jokes do not flow together at all hilarious.

What I like about Cosby is that I am now revisiting his humor with my kids -- it's timeless.

Steve Martin as well.

sometimes you have to bite your lip, exhale and move on.  So, I have.

  • Pride, Baby. Pride!
If you guys have never seen his stuff, download or rent Bill Hicks.  He was ahead of his time like Lenny Bruce, Carlin, or Pryor, but he died way too young.  He was best friends with Sam Kinnison but was way more serious comedy (political stuff, evolution, etc.)  Definitely on my Mt. Rushmore of comedy and anyone out there who has seen him would probably agree.

EDIT:  Just saw him mentioned earlier in the thread. Good call.

Hey all you Mitch Hedberg (and Steven Wright) fans check out Jon Steinberg:

Jon Steinberg is a friend of mine who isn't at all famous yet. He's on his way though, he's done Comedy Now! which is like Canada's version of Comedy Central Presents. He gets compared to Mitch Hedberg and Steven Wright a lot, and it's a fair comparison style wise. I think he's actually a better joke writer than either of those guys, watch his Comedy Now! special and you'll see what I mean. He's pretty [dang] good and crank calling too.

He's got great club material too but you'd have to go to Canada to see him at this point:

Pablo Francisco is the funniest guy I've ever seen.

For a top ten, two through nine are debatable.

Liked Pablo Francisco watching his stuff online, but I saw him live and was horribly disappointed in 2007... He was awful. Must have caught him on an off night, but it was bad enough that he can't be mentioned with Carlins or Pryors.

Personally, I love Hedberg's stuff.
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."
