The Magic will win in 6 games if they play the Lakers. Matchup problems, great offensive team, good defense, Dwight Howard, good bench, a defensive stopper (Pietrus)... they have all it takes to beat the Lakers and they showed in the regular season that they were a kind of "nemesis" (2-0). Yeah, I know that regular season results mean nothing but we said the same thing with Orlando and Clevelnd and the Magic is one game away from reaching the Finals while playing against a supposedly better team.

I just dont see it, I see Lakers getting Howard in foul trouble (and destroying the paint with pau, odom, bynum)

As much as I cant stand Pau hes been playing top notch dont think gortat could stop him

GOOOOOOOO!!!! MAGIC!!!!!
Dwight Howard will feast on the soft interior of the Lakers.

I (hope, pray) say the Magic in 6.

P.S. If the Magic don't win game 6 the NBA is rigged.

The Magic are a deep, well-organized team.  I think the Lakers look real good right now because they're not being bothered enough.  Orlando's defense will bother them.  Going to be a real fight, but the Magic (rooting for them tonight to the point of being nervous about the game....I also hate this gaga Lebron Kobe stuff....puke) should do it.

When I watch the Magic and they take out a major stud like Hedo or Lewis, I don't get nervous.  PIetrus has that Posely like calming effect on me.  Gortat comes in and hops around like 7 foot zoo animal.  Great bench.

And even if the Magic lose they still win in the most important area of all, the Celtics fan beer sweepstakes.  Meaning Celitcs fans would rather drink beer with the Magic than the Lakers, very important stuff.

Denver had a chance for top team left to have beer with, but I don't want to drink beer with KMart.

Orlando is a down-to-earth team, very likable.

If Howard is in foul trouble the Magic can play Gortat who does a very good job of replacing Howard. Do you seriously think that Bynum (the guy who picks fouls almost as quickly as Mikki Moore) can "destroy" the Magic paint? He is struggling with his offensive game and not very good defensively.

Gasol will be a good weapon for the Lakers against the Magic but again he will have a tough time defending on Lewis because of his 3 points shooting. But I agree with you, Gasol should score a lot and easily against Orlando. Odom... his problem is really mental, if he faces tough competition he'll disappear like he did in last year's Finals

Plus, the Lakers are struggling to defend on the perimeter, and there are always 4 Magic players on the court who can shoot the three while Howard is in the paint to free his teammates. Lee can do a good defensive job on Kobe, so can Pietrus, and I just think that the matchups are once again in favor of Orlando, especially if you consider that they play better on the road than at home, they could easily win games 1 and 2 in L.A.

If the Magic takes care of business tonight against the Cavs tonight, I think that Howard and his teammates are the favorites to win it all.

I think either team from the East will beat them.  The Lakers are too soft and inconsistent.  The Nuggets just didn't show up tonight.
Howard can chew those big up and spit them out.
Cleveland bigs can toss around those bigs as well.

TPs to all, thanks guys, I am hoping beyond hope that you are right (seriously, I see Roy Hobbs telling me the Lakers are toast, it's like "phew!").  It's true that after such a decisive win last night, it can feel like it's time to start engraving the trophy.  Also, I have a hard time putting my faith in Howard, who is a supreme talent but so young and stupid at times it hard to now what you'll get out of him.

But the truth is, if the Magic can get out of Orlando with a win tonight, they seem to have an excellent chance at whooping the Lakers by exploiting their greatest weakness--that soft, chewy, nougaty center of theirs ;).

GO MAGIC!!!

If the Magic advance to the finals, they could possible beat LA if D.Howard can stay out of foul trouble.

If he can't do that against Cleveland what makes you think he can do that against LA?

Howard's foul trouble isn't really a problem... In the Orlando/Boston series I was almost scared when he had to go on the bench because it meant that he wasn't going to use some ridiculous hook shots against Perkins and that Gortat was coming. The guy killed us in this series. He isn't as effective against Cleveland but still, he can backup Howard for extended minutes, the real problem is that he lacks Howard's good defense.

Well, he's not Howard-status but he's definitely not a bad defender. He's better than Nene, Bynum, Big Z, and Gasoft, that much is certain

It kinda makes me mad, because Houston and Denver both had chances to beat them... and came short. This whole thing kind of reminds me of what the Celtics went through last year, and that's NOT a good thing. Orlando and Cleveland are our only hope now...

Sooooo...
Should we just give them the title
and get it over with?  ::)

Naah. Sing with me:
GO MAGIC!

Trust me, I'm with you.  But this is the Laker's title to lose.

yep, it does appear that way.

the magic's real hope lies in

(1) howard playing at his strong, aggressive basketball, in which case LA has no one able to remotely stop him.

(2) kobe having at least 2-3 so-so (for him) games.

(3) orlando's three point shooters getting very hot.

good luck to orlando, i hope they win!
