The Clippers have "put it out there" that they are shopping the #1 pick and to teams that are willing to absorb Baron Davis and is large contract."

Clippers send:
Baron Davis
#1 pick

Celtics send:

Rajon Rondo
Scal
House
Tony Allen
Semih Erden
Pruitt

This gives the Clippers the best young back-court in the game with Gordon and Rondo and the "out" of Davis's contract. If there was a team crazy enough to make a trade like this it's the Clippers.

The Celtics get their future franchise player and Paul Pierce's buddy Baron.

C - Perk/Blake/Baby
PF - KG/Blake/Baby
SF - PP/ Grant Hill
SG - Ray Allen/Marbury/Walker
PG - Davis/Marbury

While I agree it's drastic and a bit unrealistic, It's still something Ainge would need to stop and think about.

I whole heartily agree with Jeff's sentiments on this one.

Or as they say in my neck of the woods.

Rondo as he is now would be a #1-2 pick... and I would not trade him for a guy that could turn out to be the 2009 equivalent of Oden and watch our slim window go out the window.

Clips lose on Blake, but gain Rondo and lose that Davis contract.

C's lose rondo and pick up a horrible contract, but gain a former allstar & Blake

Financially it could set the franchise back. So its a NO!

Why would the Clippers give up Davis and Griffin for Rondo? If I were Danny, I would do this trade in a heartbeat. But we all know the Clippers wouldn't even entertain the idea. I love Rondo as much as the next guy, but when you have the opportunity to get Griffin and Davis at the expense of only rondo, you pull the trigger.

Is Blake Griffen the second coming of Tim Duncan??????

I seen enough OU basketball to tell me, no he is not. Taking on the financial burden of Baron Davis' contract ain't worth the risk, especially giving up Rondo.

My answer is still a firm NO!

The issue with this Neither Danny nor Clips would entertain this idea. Losing Rondo isn't the issue, its Davis's contract. Financially it isn't smart 4 the celtics. I would love to have Blake, but its too much of a risk.

He's not Tim Duncan. But he's still a rare talent that comes along once in a great while.

Um what.... Like someone said Rondo would be a first pick in this draft. Why would we give him up for the pick and Davis alone? Rondo is our future...Blake Griffin will help us in no way in the NOW. Baron Davis is a good player but often injured and has a big ego. Plus Rondo puts up much better numbers. I dont understand this proposal at all.

Do you think Rondo would still put up the same numbers on the Clippers in LALA? Wouldn't Baron be better after he inherited a stronger cast of players that the Celtics posses? Davis's Contract is not terrible considering he is only 30. Ego issues? Did you mean to say that about Rondo?
