You are saying superstars get calls, yet every great play Dwight Howard makes they are trying to take that play away from him.  How is Dwight Howard not a superstar?

If this is addressed to me, I didn't say anything about superstars getting calls.

Say you go to Red Lobster.  They tell you to pay before they serve you the food. You want to eat coconut shrimp, So you pay $18.  They serve you nothing and when you ask for your meal they say they ran out of food, and when you ask for your money back they say they spent it already and can't give you your $18 back.  So you say "Red Lobster you are the worst, you are a travesty to all restuaraunts"  Are you hating Red Lobster? No.  All you are trying to do is enojoy the meal and the dinner you paid for.  Its as simple as that. Its not hate.  Its just somebody trying to eat and enjoy the dinner they paid for, when they got thier money taken away from them instead.  Now you can see what the Orlando Magic are going through.

I hope you do get your shrimp.  And I hope people don't call you a hater in your attempt to get the meal you paid for.

This argument would have been a lot funnier if you used crab as the meal instead of shrimp.  Then you could have drawn parallels to "LeCrab".

I think the Red Lobster analogy will go down in the history of Celtics blog as something....not quite sure what yet - it needs to age like a fine cheese

It has nothing to do with paying to get on celticsblog.  Its about earning something and then not getting it and then being called a hater for trying to get what you paid for(ala the Red Lobster analogy). Do you know what they used to call people who stood up for what was right? They used to call them Americans. Now they are called haters.

This whole argument has taken on the logic that is usually reserved for such great threads as "Bring back Antoine" or "Bring back Gerald Green".

And that fine cheese that ages that the Red Lobster analogy was like is called Lindeberger and it stinks.

LeBron gets calls. Probably more than any other player in the league.

But LeBron is one of the three greatest players on this planet and should be respected for that. He plays basketball. He does not ref games or cull stats or announce games or analize games. He just plays in them.

If anyone has a problem with the jobs all those other people are doing, their problem is with those people and not LeBron. He doesn't control refs whistles or statisticians pens or what announcers and analysts say and do.

Hahahahahahah you're calling me unamerican for saying you hate Lebron? That's hilariously cliche.

And since you've called him

-the worst player in the league (utterly false and therefore driven by a desire to denigrate, also known as hatred)

and

- a travesty, which doesn't really make sense, since the definition of travesty is "A debased or grotesque likeness", but is still a word charged with hate and derision....

I'm gonna go ahead and say that you're resorting to more and more desperate and cliched arguments (ITS UNAMERICAN!) to avoid having to admit that you actually hate Lebron.

Its okay if you do, you know.

Just admit it.

Yes. Yes you are. You are showing anger and intense dislike for Red Lobster's buisiness practices. That's what hatred is: intense dislike. It doesn't matter if "you're just trying to get the meal you paid for"... that's just the REASON you hate Red Lobster--because they denied you service. That doesn't change the fact that you hate them--only WHY.

I can't believe I just entertained a Red Lobster analogy.

Dwight Howard is a superstar. So was Shaq..and Shaq used to get hit more than Ali in the Thrilla in Mannila...he got maybe 2 out of every 5 justified calls. Why? Because he was a brute big man that did work down low. Comparing Lebron to Howard is like comparing JOrdan to O'Neal..its not really appropriate.

Not that I agree with star18 on his opinions of Lebron but, I will agree that he is the recipient of a mountain of calls. Shaq played underneath and was a bully and didn't get 2 out of 5 calls. But he still took way more FTA per game in the playoffs than Michael ever did. Now in my mind Howard is much like Shaq and LeBron much like Michael. People purposefully foul Howard to send him to the line because he's a bad FT shooter. People avoided fouling Michael because he was a good free throw shooter and initiated contact, much like Howard. Yet LeBron goes to the FT line almost 40% more often than Howard.

Given the similarities of their games and where they play wouldn't it be logical to think Howard would be going to the line more often than Lebron much like Shaq did than Michael?

I think this is at least circumstancial evidence that LeBron gets tons of calls.
