Of all the unrestricted free agents, he intrigues me the most. Great rebounder, especially on the offensive glass.  Think he would be a good back up 5 for us.  Do we realistically have a shot at him?

I'd love to have ZaZa.  I'm not sure how much he would command.  I would think we have a shot at him.

He could be had for the full MLE. But I doubt we offer that to him.

So if Wyc were in a spending mood, we could have both Zaza and Baby back?  I think I'd do that and go front-heavy into next year.

I don't think you want to be paying Za Za more than Perk....

Za Za would go a long way to counteracting any advantage CLE would have over us in the front court. He would totally neutralize Varejao.

I wonder how many times they'd both flop on the same play.....

EXACTLY! Just let those guys push each other around and put on a show for the refs and let GPA play basketball....

i really think when you are this point with a team so primed for Title runs that your personnel decisions should have a direct correlation to who you expect to meet on the way through the playoffs.

that's why i would focus on a big wing (added help against Lewis/Turk and LBJ) and a long active big (for guys like Varejao and now Gortat).

gotta start thinking match ups even at this early date IMO.

I feel like he's rather afraid of KG (who isn't?). But seriously, when KG put ZaZa on his behind via that pick in the backcourt during the Hawks series last year it must have scared ZaZa to even look KG's way ever again never mind signing on with the club.

Hey, if you can't lick them, join them.  KG's at least not like Dwight Howard and dangerous to his own teammates.  (Other than making a Baby cry.)

I think Perk wants to win, and if Zaza helps that'll be okay with him.

When they played this year during the regular season Zaza gave it right back to him several times. I don't think he's scared of KG.

I don't think Perk would care too much. He'll get his pay day when his current contract is up. Rather I don't think its a good idea for the Celtics to pay an inferior player as much as Zaza is likely to command. We'll have to see.

I would like to see Pachulia as the back up big man, as well. He's still young (25 y.o.), hustles, pretty good on the boards, would be an excellent addition to the front line. I think getting a player in his mid 20's will be good.  Signing someone like McDyess (34 y.o.) or even Nesterovic (32 y.o.)will potentially solve the problem short term. If possible, I'd like to find a big man, who has pretty decent talent, doesn't have to be an all-star, and is just about to enter his prime.  Should give the team breathing room in the big man dept. for a few seasons, along with the hopeful signing of Baby.

I would rather get McDyess or Sheed.
