They are the two free-agents that we should be purchasing hard this summer, in my opinion.
McDyess is a veteran player who plays good D, has a good midrange jumper, knows how to attack the rim, and brings his desire and intensity every night. A must-sign since we're looking for a good 4/5 bench player.
He should be interested by the Celtics because he wants to get a ring before he retires, he was disappointed in his return to Detroit, and he may be willing to lose some money if it results in a ring (see his buyout to leave Denver to Detroit, even though ultimately it was a really bad decision).
Jamario Moon is an other free-agent that we should really sign : he is very athletic, plays good D (or correct D), he is a slasher and he shoots the three (I don't know how well though). Also good on pick & roll as far as I know.
He had back problems in the playoffs, and ultimately missed the last games of the first round. Miami will probably try to re-sign him this offseason, so it will depend if he wants to play for a contender or get a good contract. If we sign him, he would be a perfect backup for Paul and a scorer/slasher for our bench.
What do you guys think? In my best case scenario, I'm assuming that we have re-signed Big Baby, Powe, Marbury and that House has decided to stay in Boston. Then, we've got to sign Moon and McDyess.I don't know if it works salary wise, so your knowledge on this subject would be appreciated. Moon earned 711 515$ this season, if you want to get an idea of how much he could ask this summer (probably more since his value may have went up since his trade in Miami). And McDyess could get the MLE, or less if we are lucky.
