Supposedly Rondo showed up at the game at 6:50. That's pretty messed up.

I agree, especially considering it's the 2nd time he did it during this series. We lost both games in blowouts with Rondo playing rather poorly on both of them, btw.
That is disturbing, I could see why this would upset Scal. I'm not surprised there are issues in the locker room. Once you win a title its easy to fall into those sort of traps.

It happened with the Pistons. Hopefully Doc and the team respond to their disappointment from this year in a positive and aggressive fashion.

80% of you will disagree but I would not be opposed to very major changes to this team. The window of the big three is closing anyway and this year was frittered away by DA, though with KG getting injured we just weren't destined to win it all this year. KG, Perk and PP are untouchables in my mind and they are the only ones. Our guards should have DESTROYED Orlandos and it didn't happen. Having said that, if I woke up and found out DA traded Rajon, we better get most of the solar systen for him even if we are hotsgae to his vagaries right now his value may never be higher

I don't read that he thinks it's a stupid question. He says it's a good question, but he shouldn't answer it right now. I can onlt assume he's dissapointed with the effort of some and doesn't want to talk about it in the newspaper. While I'm not a big Scal fan, it's hard to question his effort.

Can't tell what the quote means without hearing him actually say it, but he's probably just saying "I don't know... man... I wish I knew, though.  [dang]"

I dunno man, i don't mind scal as our 9th or 10th man. I mind him as a primary part of our big rotation, but thats injuries more than anything.

Scal's cool with me in his normal role, he suffers in the major minutes he had to defend lewis for, but i mean, we were kinda rock and hard place on that one.

the combo of scal and tony's deal are our best offseason asset. someone out there is looking to ditch a guy making 5-6 over 3 years. barbosa? posey? etc etc....

Scal showed incredible grace after the Championship game last year during his press conference, when initially nobody had any questions for him. If he didn't have anything nice to say immediately after such a discouraging loss, I give him props for his restraint & maturity. His detractors should try being in his basketball shoes for a minute before commenting on his character and performance. Scal rules.

I think you have to consider trading Rajon when his value is high. I'm worried about giving him a near-max deal.

Can't do that, PG, in particular a pass first PG, is the 2nd toughest thing to come by in the league IMO, next to a great big man.

I mean, how long have we been looking for a PG who can run a team to do it long term and build around? 10 years? 15?

The league has been extremely lucky that the last 4 years have been great PG after great PG being hits near the top of the draft, but normally that's not the way it works.

Any ideas on what one might be able to get for Rondo in a trade?

The problem is that we need what Rondo currently brings more than anything we can trade for. A pass first PG who can play defense is a must. Especially with how our team is constructed.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Its also really tricky to trade a young guy who just signed an extension, which I think any team acquiring Rondo would demand.

Likely so ... but it depends on what is available.

I too am doubtful that there is any player the C's could acquire in exchange for Rondo that offers more to the team than Rondo at this stage.

Even if a trade were to be a wash contribution and talent wise we'd need a new starting PG for the team. It'd be tough to get a passable replacement and another piece that would make up for Rondo's loss.

No I think we have to live with Rondo and apparently any growing pains he has. Pierce had plenty himself, most young stars do.

I still think Rondo will be a star in this league, you don't trade those lightly.

i'd be interested to hear one realistic scenario that would benefit the Cs and the other team. got one?
