I ask this question because the reality is it will take a miracle for us to get by Cleveland if we win today. I would be more confident of our chances if I would have seen more consitent play for our boys this post season. But it just looks to me that they will get slaughtered by this Cleveland team with the way they have been playing. We do have an outside chance I know, but lets be real, unless they pick up the defensive intensity they don't stand a chance.
Of course none of us can predict the future so the answer might be yes lets take our chances, but would it be enjoyable as a fan to see a series if it's not even competative?

I don't have an answer to this yet, but it's been a question in my mind ever since KG was reported out for the playoffs. Mabey the only way this question can be answered is by 20/20 hindsight.

Let's focus on game 7 against the Magic and win it before talking about Cleveland, please, or we are likely to jinx the Celtics.

Of course we want to advance.

Do we want to win? Are you **** kidding me? I don't care if we lose by a combined score of 400 in a swept vs. Cleveland, OF COURSE you want to win. If you don't want to win, go be a Cavs bandwagoner and not a Celtics fan.

Worst tread ever.

Of course you want to win. You don't let another team beat you so they can say they're a better team. Even though we get beat by Cleveland, its better to say that we got beat by the best team in the NBA without KG than to say we got beat by the Magics.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

Thats a little harsh dont you think. If you read my entire post which I doubt you did, you will see that I didn't give an answer to.
If you would set aside the knee-jerk reaction and think about what I was asking, you might now be so quick to judge.

Its not about being a bandwaog fan either. If we get by the Magic and get humiliated by Cleveland, would you really want to watch that? It's all I'm asking.

This is where the hindsight 20/20 comes in.  I'm not saying I want us to lose today, but if I could see the future and see that we lose to the Cavs, whats the point then. I guess to me anything short of a title is a faliure to me. Not that our team is a group of failures or the effort they put forth is overlooked, its just that i don't really enjoy watching my team lose.

I will repeat again, I am not saying we will lose to the Cavs, but you are a blind homer if you don't reallize that it will take a monumental effort to beat them with the way we have bben playing.

Absolutely.  Every day we extend our season in the playoffs is a good one in my book.

I will register with the rest of the panel that I won't need hindsight to answer this one: I want to go as far as possible every year, and however the road ends, I'll be glad we got as far as we did.

I would find a loss tonight would be far worse than any misery we could suffer against Cleveland as far as wins and losses are concerned.

Fair enough and thanks for the non-flame reply. It was just a question I posed. I just wish some on here would see it as a philosophical question before jumping the gun and revoking my fan card.

There is no need to ask a dumb question. Any true Celtics fan would want to make it as far as possible no matter what happens. Its a ridiculous thread.

You can act high and mighty uber celtic fan if you want. But I do believe you gave up on them during game five when the chips were down and you said you wernt going to watch game six if they didnt come back.
