Some of you need to chill out on the attacks. If you think the question is stupid, don't answer it. I can definitely understand why someone would have misgivings about possibly seeing the Celtics have their butts kicked for 4 straight games. It would be a sad end to the season. That said there's always a chances in any series for an upset.

I am a Celtics Fan. I have never ever woken up a day in my life hoping the Celtics would lose a game.

On the subject of Tommy Points - maybe we can take away all of angryguys77 Tommy Points and distribute them among the loyal Celtics fans.

If we need any further proof - fantanking does not work. That was proven twice to us in 1997 (Tim Duncan) and 2007 (Oden and Durant).

Next question please.

Yes

Free Agents would much rather come here and guys like Baby would much rather stay here if we go deeper in the playoffs

It gives young guys and coaches valuable experience

It makes the team money that makes it easier to sign guys or buy a draft pick

Also you never know if Lebron gets hurt like KG did

Or mabey we should take away tp's for reacting to a post that we didn't read before posting a reply. If you can point out to where I said "i hope the Celtics Lose to the Magic" I will give you tp's for eternity.
I have to say some of the members here love to react and jump on people before even stopping and thinking about what a poster is saying/asking.
If it makes you feel like a superior fan, then by all means treat me as a troll. But the reactions of some of you hear point to foolish immature behavior.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

I'm sorry, I know you are hoping the Celtics win tonight and we'll have to take on Cleveland. I realize that we don't stand much of a chance beating Cleveland 4 times in the next 2 weeks but I would have more fun watching the Celtics then seeing Orlando make a fool of themselves.

I agree that it looks bad if we win today.  However, if the Rockets can take the Lakers to 7 (and maybe beat them) without McGrady and for some of the series without Yao, then I have to believe that there's at least a very small chance the C's can win next round.  Plus, there's always the chance that KG comes back, which would radically change the dynamics of the next round.  While I believe that Cleveland is a vastly superior team to us without KG, I think that with the improvements of Rondo and Perkins this year, the C's are the better team when healthy.

I do like the way you look at it. It does put an optimisitc slant on a depressing thought. Tp for you.

Do we want to win? Are you **** kidding me? I don't care if we lose by a combined score of 400 in a swept vs. Cleveland, OF COURSE you want to win. If you don't want to win, go be a Cavs bandwagoner and not a Celtics fan.

Worst tread ever.

Its not about being a bandwaog fan either. If we get by the Magic and get humiliated by Cleveland, would you really want to watch that? It's all I'm asking.

Absolutely.  Every day we extend our season in the playoffs is a good one in my book.

I will register with the rest of the panel that I won't need hindsight to answer this one: I want to go as far as possible every year, and however the road ends, I'll be glad we got as far as we did.

I would find a loss tonight would be far worse than any misery we could suffer against Cleveland as far as wins and losses are concerned.

Steve is quoted for truth. I'll win today, and take my chances with the fate in the next series.

Dallas 67-15
Detroit 64-18
Seattle 63-19
San Antonio 63-19
San Antonio 62-20
Utah 62-20
Phoenix 62-20
Indiana 61-21
Sacramento 61-21
Miami 59-23
San Antonio 58-24
Minnesota 58-24
Utah 37-13

These are teams in the last 15 years who entered the playoffs as the #1 seed and failed to even get to the Finals. Yes Celveland will be the favorite and I'm not naive to expect to beat the Cavs even IF we get by Orlando but there would be far greater upsets then a 62-20 team with 3 all-star caliber players and one of the top 5 defensive centers beating this Cleveland team.

Put it this way, I believe last years Celtic team is better than this year's Cavs team and I believe that this presently constructed Celtic team is better than last year's Cavs team. If last year's Cavs team can push us to 7, then yes I don't think its too far-fetched to think that we could push them to 7 this year.

The story of last years team was how far the team could go WITH KG. The story this year has been just how far the team can go WITHOUT KG.

First things first though, I'm more concerned about this Magic team.

The games aren't played on paper.  We play and play hard until we are finished.  Losing to a tough opponent is no shame.  Giving up is a shame.  The Rockets have taken "the annointed Western Champs" to 7 games and they have only one of their dubious big 3.  If our team's gutsy play isn't enough to sustain us, let us look at the example the Rockets have set (excepting game 7, where they are at press down 17 to 6).

Do we want to advance? This is not a normal team, this is the Boston Celtics. Any game in which our team plays there is pride, legend, tradition and class displayed. Celtics can beat anybody, including the Kobe's and LeBron's...

If I were James, I would be rooting hard for the Magic to advance... We are going to beat the Cavs in 6! Go C's!

this team has shown time and time again that they want to win with the heart they play with.  to actually pose this question heading into a game 7 is ridiculous.

like pierce said, "we are the champs until someone knocks us out".

This thread...that's a rhetorical question right????

The toughest interior player between the C's and #18 is Dwight Howard, and we can send him fishing tonight. If Denver doesn't get to the finals, nobody is even close.

Of course we have something to win for tonight. Of course we can beat Cleveland still. Paul guards Lebron. We NEVER concede that match up. Even on nights when Lebron is putting on a show, Paul finds a way to make it more of a push than an advantage to Cleveland. Lebron still has a lot to learn from Paul.

In general, Cleveland doesn't create any of the 'problem' matchups that have made this playoffs such an amazing challenge. Rose was so athletic. Dwight is so athletic. Mo and Z are soft and an easier cover (though not easy) by comparison.

Dwight and Lebron both need to spend a few more character building years losing to us. Otherwise, they are more likely to become legendary d**che bags than legends truly worthy of comparison to the all time greats.

Just look at the road Paul, Ray, and KG had to go down to get here. That's why this team is so tough and hungry still, that's why one title is not enough.
