Let`s pretend you are Doc Rivers.

What do you think is the best strategy for game 7?

Should the Celtics stick with the things that worked in this series, or do you want them to try something new in game 7?

Do you want them to focus on Orlando`s perimeter players, or do you think Dwight Howard is the biggest threat to our beloved Celtics?

Do you have a problem with the lineups?
Do you want more Tony Allen? Should Mikki Moore play? Will Solomon? Bueller?

I would like to hear your thoughts on this matter, one day before the most important game of this season.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I would like to see House as the backup pg instead of sg. Play House, Ray, Paul, Scal, and Perk for a stretch to get some spacing for Paul and Ray and get the offense flowing. One solid offensive stretch could kill the magic.

What I want to see is what we saw at the beginning of the Bulls series that worked so great. I want Rondo pushing the ball up the court fast and going straight to the bucket. This opened up easy scores and eventually caused foul trouble on the opponents bigs and wide open shooters on the perimeter as most defenders went instantly towards the lane leaving their men on the perimeter with great spacing.

I think at home, the Celtics should dictate this pace and push the tempo offensively. Rondo is most dangerous when trying to score in the first 6 seconds of the shot clock and if he can't it will be easy to dribble through the lane and dish or to reset the offense. The slower pace is allowing the Orlando defense to settle in and stick to the Celtics perimeter players. A change in pace will unsettle the Magic's defense and kick start the crowd.

I would either have us go to Pierce early and get us off to a good start or have Rondo be aggressive at the start and Pierce close the game out.

On defense I would allow Dwight to get all the touches he wants, and for us to just defend the perimeter and pack down the paint to deny penetration.

Start Scal.
He does a great job of spacing the floor and being where he needs to be on D.  Conserve Big Baby's foul so there's no early tick tack stuff.  We need him and Perk to basically force Howard out of the paint all game.
Oh yeah, and Mikki Moore better be ready to play.

Starters:
Rajon Rondo
Ray Allen
Paul Pierce
Glen Davis
Kendrick Perkins

(BBD doesn't play with the same intensity off the bench, and Scal is a perfect fit in the 2nd unit because he'll bring that intensity just by stepping out there at home, plus his three point shooting can really spread the floor for Steph's driving and mid-range game.)

Off. Strategy

-Runs set plays to get Ray open mid-range looks
-Rondo crash the defensive boards and turn for the break, even if he's by himself take it to the hole.
-Marbury needs to drive while Scal and House are standing on the wings, that'll spread the court very nicely
-Scal is shooting almost 50% from 3PT range, fire away Scalathreenie.
-Pierce and BBD can't sulk after missing shots or not getting calls because in game 6 they were talking to officials or moping instead of playing defense... and they're guarding two of The Magic's best scorers.

DEF. Strategy
-Perk 1on1 with Dwight give him nothing easy
-If D12 gets the ball right under the hoop and your a big man (i hate to say it) you gotta just give it to him so do your work on ball denial and pushing him out of the circle
-If Superman gets the ball right under the hoop in a switch, and your not a big man...KILL HIM. I'll take him shooting FT's all night in a Boston Garden Game 7.
-I don't care if Hedo hasn't his a single shot in the game, if he's coming off a pick you gotta fight through it. He's their creator down the stretch so keep him off his game ALL NIGHT.

three things need to happen for us:

1. play boston celtic defense for 48 min.
2. look to attack the rim.
3. rondo stay aggressive the entire game

since ray is not playing good I would start starbury and push the ball, then we would have ray off the bench and fresh, later on if he is hitting his shots ill keep him in the game.

foul howard hard every time he is under the basket. but let him score when theres nothing to do about it. no silly fouls.
the bigs cannot get in foul trouble.

go to perkins more.

- play pick and roll with paul handling and baby rolling.
- dont start to isolate paul pierce I hate that! its kinda 50/50.
- get ray allen involved, he should attack the basket more and try to get to the line, same with paul
-put half court pressure on tourkouglu and alston, sometimes double team them. maybe with tony allen and rondo.
- dont turn the ball over

One thing I'm surprised is that they haven't posted up Ray more on the low block with Reddick guarding him.  They've run a few sets where this is what it seemed like they'd be doing, but then Ray began running off screens.

They did actually try this, once, in either Game 5 or 6.  Allen missed the shot but come on.  He's at least an inch taller than Reddick and doesn't have to worry about getting his shot blocked.  If he hit a couple in a row they'd have to start doubling him and that would open lanes for Rondo and Pierce.

If I was Doc, the first 3 offensive possessions tomorrow I'd go to Ray on the post.

That sums it up pretty well.

well, you won't have both of those things happen, either TA plays and you accept the turnovers that come with it, or he sits and you decrease turnovers. just saying...
