episode one is pretty good actually, which is rare in anime as ya know (first like, 4 are generally meet and greet episodes) I remember 3-6 being slow, kinda like bleach but then it really takes off as it starts to turn kinda darker from "oh sweet, i have a magical sorta girlfriend!!!"
to "huh, she did what in the war?" .
