Did anyone see Em on Jimmy Kimmel live? Based on the way he looked during that show, he is telling the truth about his drug problem. If you thought he was skinny before...

Just watched that, I saw him on Friday Night with Jonathon Ross last week and he definitely looked different. He looks gaunt. Nice to see he's off the drugs though, and interesting hearing about his friendship with Elton John.

I learned a new word. ;)

Yeah it was very interesting that he keeps in touch with Elton and talks with him about his drug problem.

1)Dr West- Nice skit, good intro into 3AM
2)3am- Pretty good song, not feelin the chorus but the rest his flow is nice and a good beat, 7/10.
3)My Mom- Yeah he's brought up his mom alot, however this song is very strong, 8/10.
4)Insane- Lol this song is messed up, sick beat and his flow is topnotch here, 7/10
5)Bagpipes From Baghdad- Awesome beat, song is pretty good, nothing great, 6/10.
6)Hello- Pretty nice beat, not a fan of the song really, 5/10.
7)Tonya- Skit.
8)Same Song & Dance- Throw-in song, 4/10.
9)We Made You- Just no, 4/10.
10)Medicine Ball- Crazy beat, seriously messed up content (Christopher Reeves rapping) lol but very good song lyrically and his flow is nice on it, 8/10.
11)Paul Skit- Funny skit.
12)Stay Wide Awake- Awesome beat, flow, and lyrics, 10/10.
13)Old Times Sake- Ok beat, Dr Dre clearly outshines Eminem on it, 5/10.
14)Must Be The Ganja- Another ok song but nothing special, 6/10.
15)Mr Mathers- Good skit
16)Deja Vu- Another great song overall, 10/10
17)Beautiful- The one song Eminem produced, great overall, 10/1018)Crack A Bottle- Meh, 5/10
19)Steve Berman- Another skit.
20)Underground- Just a sick, sick song, great beat and flow 10/10, great Ken Kanif skit at the end.

My favorite songs are the bolded ones, overall id give the CD a 8/10, there are some weak songs but the top songs are all GREAT. Relapse 2 is supposed to be more serious and better overall, so ill be looking forward to that. Blackout 2 is alo a very strong cd that just came out, Lupe's cd Lasers should be sick as all of his work is, Street Hop should be great like anything else Royce Da 5'9 has put out lately, his last song that came out called Slaughter is a 10/10 and is easily one of the best songs of the year so far IMO. Also, i dont think they will release a CD this year but watch out for Slaughterhouse, the supergroup made up of Joe Budden, Royce Da 5'9, Crooked I, and Joell Ortiz, they have released a handful of songs so far and they are all great. As for Relapse, its not on the level of his first 3 CD's but its clearly much better than Encore and is slightly below The Eminem Show. However its pretty clear that Eminem is fully into making music again which is a good thing, him at even 75% is better than most of the trash out nowadays.

Oh, there are 2 bonus tracks that were released that are VERY good each, the language is rough in these songs so beware. Id give them both 9/10, My Darling has 2 of his personalities going back and forth, sounds like something he'd have released in the late 90's.

After listening to Relapse over and over and over it's starting to grow on me a little. Slim Shady LP, Marshall Mathers LP, The Eminem Show, and Encore are all better in my opinion. I think it's almost as good as Encore. I will say I'm not one of those people that hated Encore... I thought it was pretty good but not great. With that being said, I still can't stand the voices and changing voices to keep it interesting is no excuse... Tupac never had to change his voice, Biggie, Jay-Z, and Nas never changed their voices. My favorite rappers Lupe and Pharoahe Monch don't have to change their voices. In response to what Moiso said... I would be happier if Eminem stuck to his angry voice from SSLP and MMLP, I would not be sick of him.

Anyways... the songs I do like on the album are as follows:

Underground - The angry voice of old, awesome beat, awesome chorus, good Eminem type subject matter, funny skit at the end. Already one of my favorite Eminem songs ever.

Beautiful - I love it when Eminem puts out songs like this, straight from the heart. He doesn't do it too often, but every once in a while a song like this is a good balance. This is my second favorite song from Relapse.

Stay Wide Awake - I don't like the voice(Although its not as bad as it is on other songs from Relapse). However I do like everything else about this song. Flow is ridiculous, lyrics are ridiculous, beat is pretty good, love the chorus...

Insane - So graphic yet so genius at the same time. I love the beat and chorus. I like the lyrics and hate the lyrics at the same time... I don't know I'm really torn about this whole album.

My Mom - Good song, great beat... nothing really sticks out, it's pretty solid though.

Deja Vu - Really good lyrics and flow, chorus and beat are kind of dull. It's a pretty good song though.

3 AM - Love the beat, subject, lyrics, flow are alright, hate the chorus, hate the voice... but for some reason I like the song overall.

We Made You - Eminem always puts out at least one song per album that sounds more like pop than rap. For some reason I always end up liking them as much as I hate hearing them the first time. His pop type songs are just too catchy.

Bagpipes From Baghdad - Absolutely love the beat, hate the subject matter, hate the voice, hate the scottish accent in the beginning... For me the beat is so good that it saves the song.

Other than what I mentioned I hate this album. That means there are 9 songs on this album that I like, or kind of like...

In comparison to SSLP and MMLP, Relapse is awful because I can listen to both of those beginning to end and not have to hit the skip button.

In comparison to almost any album from any other artist, Relapse is still a gem because it is very hard to find an album with 9 good songs on it.

Beautiful is my favorite song off of this album. Love this one.

Underground takes me back to the old Em. Love his flow on this, but the hook doesn't flow well for me. Definitely one of my favorites on the album, though.

Bagpipes from Baghdad. I'd like to echo what everyone else is saying. The content of the song ruins the beat.

I actually like Must be the Ganja. It bangs.

Those are the songs that I have an opinion on so far

New Eminem album. I think it's up there with his best work. Whether you like Hip-Hop or not, you have to respect Eminem. His wordplay, storytelling and talent is unparalleled. This album definitely does not let down fans.

Those who've heard it, thoughts?

Those who haven't, looking forward to it?
First I do like Eminem and mnay other artist from many different Genre's.
But I don't agree with the fact that people have to respect him, I do but I am just saying you don't have to and alot of people don't.
Thats like saying you have to respect Tim Mcgraw because he tells a good story, which he does.

does he use autotune?

No, but it's just that dumb voice he's used in the past.  Some of his songs are just dumb, I understand calling out someone to beef with, but Mariah Carey?  People say some of his lyrics are great, and they are, but some of his lyrics are so dumb.  I mean Mariah Carey, why do it?  It makes zero sense.
We "We Made You" and the Mariah Carey thing were shots at Tony Romo, Jessica Alba, Kim Khardashian, etc. The Mariah Carey song was directed at Nick Cannon, who's a joke.

Correct, but it's not necessary, it makes ZERO sense.  It's just dumb.  He is the only rapper who does that to sell records.  A guy like Jay-Z just spits and is flat out better then Eminem. Nas raps about controversial things too, but he does it with intelligence and substance.
do it

Totally disagree. He does not have to do that to sale records. Dude is gonna sell regardless. I think he is just crazy like that. All I know is I would take Em in a freestyle battle over anyone in the game right now. His recent freestyles on Rap City and the Tim Westwood show were too sick.
Carl: And, technically, he's supposed to be spayed, and uh, he ain't that. I know that first hand. Go ahead, ask me how I know. Go ahead. Ask me. Ask me how I know.
