shoved kid's dad demands apology

His comment that BBD was raging was 100% accurate. Go look at the tape. Look at his face. Look at him cursing up to and taunting the fans. No he didn't mean to bump into that kid, but the father was only wrong with his demanding of an apology.

The guy called BBD a raging "lunatic" and a raging "animal".  The fact that you're okay with that, and defend the father's choice of words, seems to be more motivated by your stated dislike for BBD more than anything else.

Unless, of course, you truly think it's okay to go around calling people animals.

Never saw the word animal, only lunatic. I think he was quite over the top and it was fitting. The issue however is that this is about BBD and the kid, not the father. I don't think the father is in the right, however what has the kid done?! We are are acting like the kid did something wrong. He did nothing wrong and it is to the kid that BBD should apolopgize, not the father. The father should apologize for calling BBD an animal.

I have said this a ton of times, but I do not dislike BBD. I think he is limited in his ability out there and has basically peaked which is not good enough for a potential starter, however I love the guys energy and personality. I have said that from day 1.

Not to rain on the rush to convict glen davis your on here, but while i don't blame the kid or baby one bit,  the kid DID technicaly do something "wrong".

He was standing up and well away from his seat, he's got a foot on the inbounds line in the vid.

now, mabey courtside seat rules are diffrent in orlando, they may well be. But in boston, it has been made quite clear to everyone I know (all 2 of em) who have been lucky enough to get courtside seats that  you keep sitting in your seat, or at worst you stand pressed agaisnt it, or you take your chances and then it is your job to be aware of what is going on during the game.

Again, not the kid's fault, or davis's. but to say the kid was somehow not anywhere near the court and davis attacked him like some lunitic? please EJ.

It's really hard to take the way your selling this seriously, given your noted dislike of davis ( i know you say you don't, but the tone of your posts is that hes a fat lump who isn't worthy to be a celtic. i don't know how much stronger you can express your dislike of a guy) and his continued role on this team...If this had been ray (and no "he wouldn't have done it" comeback, this is my hypothetical  ) or anyone else, you would have come to the same conclusion magic and celtic fans have.

Kid got pushed (he didn't even fall down, despite the scum bag fathers insistance he did) and lost his hat when davis had to avoid a ref and run the out of bounds line. No fault for either party.

I don't blame him for it because he is a young kid himself and just hit a huge shot, but he was over the top.

#2- I said multiple times early in this thread that he didn't push the kid. He "swim moved" past him. Had he pushed the kid he would have went flying down hard. I also said BBD obviously had no idea who was next to him. There was nothing intentional.

#3 - Repeat it all you want but it isn't true. I dislike BBD's game. It has huge amounts of holes in it and it wouldn't be that hard to fill. How difficult is it to replace an overweight undersized PF that can't rebound, can't block shots, and is a mediocre shooter?! I think the guy has an awesome personality and that he would be a fun guy to be a teammate of. I don't however think that he is a starting caliber PF and is a career backup unless on a scrub team. If you want to hitch your wagon to a borderline starter then go ahead. I'd rather see us trade him for something more well rounded. Don't forget as well that a couple months ago I created a thread giving big props to BBD for the way he has been dropping pounds, playing with more consistency, and hitting that outside jumper. Don't just take the part of my comments that fit your argument.

why do i have to hitch my wagon to him as a starter though?

Im quite comfortable with him as a 7th or 8th man on a championship team, which is what he is when we are healthy. I've never said i thought he was some sort of long term KG replacement.

yea, but no harm as EJ and others have pointed out in just a simple apologie to the kid. it's not his fault his dad wanted to promote his toy company and made a huge issue out of it (check out the tag line of the original story, father couldn't get hsi companies name in there fast enough.)

And when told that the kid’s father had backed off his claims since making his initial comments to the Sentinel, Rivers was equally shrugging about the entire incident.
