Wow -- 7 pages on this.

Is there really ANYONE here who bumps into someone accidentally and doesn't say 'sorry'?  Especially if the bump-ee is a kid about 1/2 your size?

You say 'whoops, sorry' even if the kid got in your way, even if he was where he shouldn't have been.  The dad is clearly a jerk, but yes, you apologize to the kid (not the dad) or you are also behaving like a jerk.

If I bumped into somebody by accident, I would apologize.  If, before doing so, that person, or his father, called me a "lunatic", or especially an "animal", there's no way I'd ever apologize.  Call me stubborn like that.

Big Baby puts George Costanza to shame (specifically 1:25 to 1:33)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnfbhdELQLA

Honestly this was the first thing I thought of when I saw this play last night.  Big Baby is doing the George Constanza!

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

I have to agree with roy, i would if the father didn't start personaly insulting me. then i wouldn't, no.

P.S i'm quite sure baby will apologize to the kid in some sort of statement. Its been what, 18 hours since the incident? a celtics approved Pr release will be forthcoming, i assure you.

Should Davis apologize to the ref, too?  Because he brushed the ref about as much as he brushed the kid.

Not to mention, if after you bumped into someone, they stand up on a chair and get everyones attention in the store and say "Ahem, attention everyone, this man here bumped into me, and now I would like an apology, so quiet down so he can do it."

Bite me.  Give me a +1 to Roys reponse.

It's stupid people like this that ruin sporting events for everyone with one lawsuit.  Soon we'll be watching NBA games from behind saftey glass like at hockey games.

  • Thank you Eddie!
What is this world coming to?  It's little things like these that make me lose faith in humanity.  First, you're sitting courtside!  You're supposed to expect getting bumped.  Second, the dad is probably rich enough, so he's going to make this a story because he has money?  I hate self-important rich people like these.

Didn't see that anybody mentioned it, apologies if so, but if you watch the video closely, you'll notice that the father is in the middle of trash talking a C's fan while Davis bumps into his son. This guy is a real piece of work.

His broken logic pertaining to players going out of bounds:

"If I cross that line, the NBA will take away my tickets. It's a double standard."

The difference Aristotle, is that you have absolutely no reason at all to be on the court, and players do in fact have business being out of bounds at times. Relatively important parts of the game actually take place out of bounds. Y'know, like when 'in-bounding' the ball from there?

Ah! But what if you "catapulted" that somebody's hat into the air?

I want to give the dad a TP for using the word "catapulted". I'll just give you the TP instead considering you brought it up, and you are a celtics fan.

Ernest Provetti does have a facebook and add him as a friend, go check the pic on there as well.  Looks like he goes on the court numerous times with that pic, like father like son...

Sorry your dad was too cheap to buy you a hat that fit, but instead bought won two sizes too big, so he wouldn't have to buy another in a yr or two when your noggin grows. :P

This was the exact same thing I thought watching the video, JR.  That hat looks huge, doesn't it?

When it happened, I felt Baby made the right choice shoving the kid out of the way and not the ref. Running over the ref would not have been good.
