I looked around the site a little, looked at the blogs..

this was hilarious:

http://www.ballislife.com/profiles/blogs/what-people-say-bout-me

from Miguel Antonio Augotein Domingue - according to his profile he's the best middle school player in the country, good to see he's humble:

"people are always telling me that i'll never make it as a NBA player.
There are a lot of doubters in my life.
And i tell them the only way i wont make it as a NBA player is if i die first.
I have the skill, determination, will, strength, size, speed, hustle, and hunger as a NBA player.
I know im gonna make it
and when i do im not gonna thank anyone... not my mom or dad or any family
because i know that me making it to the NBA
would be all to me.
You will all see.
see ya all in the NBA "

and the source of that quote:

#31 in the picture

its good to be confident, but to not even give credit to family, teammates, etc. at this age especially, not a good sign - if he makes the NBA I'll buy his jersey

I find the quote interesting because he specifically addresses it to his doubters, but then mentions his parents, as though his parents are his doubters.

I kinda like the quote, because I think there is a lot of false modesty on the part of a lot of athletes and celebrities, that boarders on insulting.

I'd rather see genuine pride than false modesty. They are both sins, but one doesn't compound the sin with a lie

did you look at the kid? he thinks he's big enough to play in the NBA? He's not big enough to change a lightbulb on a 6 foot ladder

  • Be the posts you wish to see in the world.
Reminds me of:

I hate you all, I thank no one but myself...M...V...P!

I thought someone said he was the top rated middle schooler in the country

I read that too, and did a doubletake at first after seeing the pic, but then I realized the someone is actually his own profile.

Looking at the picture I highly doubt he's the best player on his team, let alone a top player in the country...  ::)  But hey more power to him I guess.

Oh. Well now I feel stupid. I checked out the site and I don't see where it says that, but oh well

Gotta give the kid a little credit for being so unashamedly self-promotional
