Has there ever been a rookie All-star? I dont remember if Jordan or LeBron were.

How about diminishing All-stars: Kid? Carter? Who else is being phased out quicker than Big Ben and Kenyon Martin?

It pains me to think that KG will probably not be selected as a starter. Then again neither will A.I

I'm pretty sure yao was.  Shaq?  Magic/Bird?  Kobe is the youngest all star ever, but i dont think he was a rookie.

Al Jefferson and Kevin Durant will definantly make it. Cant belive neither of them hasnt made it yet.

Kevin Durant hasn't earned it quite yet, but its a shame about Al.

Um, Al blew out his knee last year.  Let's wait a bit until we put in in the All-star squad.  I'm sure he'd be happy just to be healthy again.

Grant Hill made the All-Star team his rookie year.

Al Jefferson will make it, but I'm not surprised he hasn't yet.  He hasn't helped his teams win any games.

Also, don't forget about Emeka Okafor in the East.  He's a more athletic player than Perkins.  I actually think of him as a hybrid of Howard and Perk.  He can score and rebound better than Perk.  He's probably just as effective defensively too.  If Charlotte is on route to the playoffs next year, the coaches might give Okafor the All-Star spot over Perk considering we may have 4 potential All-Stars already (e.g., KG, PP, Ray, Rondo).

Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, Al Jefferson, Deron Williams will be in contention.

I think Monta Ellis could be in with a shout too.

Just off the top of my head, I know Tim Duncan made the All-Star team as a rookie
