Great player, no doubt.
He did however jack up a lot very difficult and heavily contested shots instead of passing and giving his team the possibility to get a better look...
When he hit those he looked brilliant, but when he missed...
Same thing goes for ben gordon, but he never missed...
Actually a lot of bulls fans think that these two either have to learn how to play team ball or leave chitown this offseason.
Ben Gordon also missed a lot. We remember the great makes for Gordon, but he had many more misses at important moments. When Gordon hits, it is often fool's gold, because his attempts are low percentage.
That is why I don't get too worried when Gordon hits a few tough jumpers. It often just means he is setting himself up to take some ill-advised shots.
Agreed. But gordon has still been the guy that has kept chicago in this series.
Many of those games i just thought gordon was due to miss one of his jumpers, and sure he didn't have an abnormal shooting percentage and his shot selection was horrible, but he usually hit those that hurt us...
If you're doc you gotta realise that these shots have been defended very well and have all been contested. Just keep playing him like that let hime jack up those shots, if he makes 'em, nothing you can do about it... (and i give him credit for having done exactly that!). Ray, Steph and Tony all did a fine job defending him but he just shot out of his mind for most of the series.
(This is something that could happen against orlando as well. They can heat up from three and the celtics will have to keep the faith that the threeball won't fall all the time for them and not open up the paint for howard and lewis too much...)
I sure understand some bulls fans that don't like the ben gordon and john salmons isolation plays as the bulls only option late in a close game, even though they been working surprisingly often...
