i believe he was saying there is still time for the celtics to make a comeback. (even though they were down alot with little time left)

at least thats what the announcers said and i think it makes more sense than him saying i'm coming back.

Yeah, that makes sense considering I didn't get to watch the game a couple nights ago because of work... But that still doesn't explain the headline the news channel used... They obviously just used that clip to match their headline.

He pointed at a watch to say "We got time" to a stupid magic(they don't deserve capitalization) fan I'm pretty sure.

I hear KG had oatmeal, egg whites and coffee this morning for breakfast but that's just a rumour I heard from this girl who's dad has an important job with the Celtics while sitting in a deli.  ;D

Yeah I saw that same report.  The sports guy on the news said that KG was pointing at his watch and saying "it's time" and then asked the question of "oh boy, does that mean a KG comeback?"

KG was obviously mouthing "we got time"...not "it's time"

Don't expect a return.

The more I look at it it looks like he says "It's Time... It's Time" Maybe he was saying it to Doc to stop holding him back looks what is happening with out me out there saying "It's time for me to get back" I can only dream... But then again watching it did look as he said "We Got Time" but hey who knows what goes on in the crazy mans head so hopefully he said "It's Time" and he comes back tonight or game 5

sigh. it must be desperation time in celtic-land.

KG aint walking through that door for a playoff game.

wish it were true, but it's not.

There is no problem with hoping that there is s KG return to the court -- and, yes of course, it is desperation.  No one in their right mind believes the C's can repeat without KG -- so Danny's/Doc's mantra of 'moving on without KG' in many minds is interpreted as 'we'll try real hard (except in game 3), but  we don't have the talent to win this year'.  Right now, this season's success will be defined by the C's ability to gut out a  competitive series with Orlando -- #18 is not possible.  However, as fans, we have a right to hope for the admittedly unlikely possibility that KG is coming back and will at least be some semblance of himself when he does.  It is probably annoying to some to continue to hear that some still believe there is a chance for a return, but it is also annoying to others to put the 'ky-bosh' on the only real hope remaining.  Danny and Doc have clearly NOT put this completely to rest, meaning that they believe there is a chance too.

I agree, it's obvious that's what he was saying, there was time for a comeback...

KG won't return, you can't risk your best player's health just to win the eastern semis or even to have slightly better(than zero) chances against an outrageous LeBron! If KG is not 100% ready, we can't beat the Cavs... And he won't be 100% during the playoffs, this is sth more than obvious!!

I think it is obvious that KG cannot return at 100%.  But it is not obvious that he won't attempt a return.  That door has clearly been left ajar -- and no one has come by to close it.

With our current rotation, it is Cav's in 4 or 5 if the C's manage to get to the ECF (we may get lucky in one hmoe game).  But, I do believe (based on nothing) that KG will try to play if the C's make it to the ECF.  Yes, we can rule out a 35 minutes per game KG at 100%; but perhaps a 20 minutes per game KG could have an impact on that series. Not enough for the C's to win, but maybe enough to make it fun.

If we get past this series with Orlando and move on to play Cleveland...I predict that if KG comes back at all this year it will be in game three of the Cleveland series, at home in Boston.

This will mean that he would mean that he would have roughly 8-10 games to play in if we were to get to the finals.

I adjust my prediction:

Again, IF, we get by Orlando and:

If we lose games 1 & 2 in Cleveland, KG will play in game three in Boston.

If we happen to sneak one of the first two in Cleveland, they will keep KG out as long as possible. If we won one of the first two in Cleveland and game three in Boston, we might not see him until game five in Cleveland...

I just think they're tryign to get as far as possible without him having to play and they're saving him to see if they can limit his contribution to somewhere between 5-10 games only before going off to have the surgery.

Otherwise, why wouldn't he have just had the surgery already?
And, if he was able to run and play for 3-4 games when he came back for that little stretch, you know he has a few games in him still...

They are trying to save him is all.

KG's not coming back at this point.

Agreed. He is not coming back. From everything I have read and heard, he is still limping when he walks. He is not going to play.

I hadn't read that.

But...if that is the case and I agree you could be right, why on God's earth would you not get the surgery done and the process moving forward as fast as possible. I doubt very much it's KG saying "I want to limp around on this leg when I walk for the next two months while I'm watching the playoffs and wait to have surgery on it...?

If there was no chance he was going to play, they would have done the surgery and he'd be on crutches if he had to be, wouldn't he?

I mean, what possible reason is there to wait if he 100% isn't gonna play again?

Why are people stating that KG is not coming back in this thread? And why are people even the slightest bit confused? This is all very simple.

While it looks highly unlikely that KG will be able to contribute during the playoffs, there is still the remote possibility that he will feel good enough to take the court. This is why the team postponed his procedure. Operating on him would guarantee that he would have no chance to play during this playoffs.

Very simple. I made basically the same post a few days ago, but people are still questioning why he isn't getting surgery. The team has not kept this secret.
