my expectations for Moore are pretty low. He's not a great interior defender, he gets no blocks, he can't rebound, doesn't box out well, and isn't very quick laterally. That said, IF he can hit a 15 ft. jumper or two while he's out there and pull DH out of the post to open the lane for Rondo and Pierce, that's a positive, but a big IF.

I doubt they'd have Howard guarding Moore though, if he was on the floor with another "big"

Ok. but look at our big man rotation. Perk, BBD, Scals, and Moore. Out of those 4, Perk is the only player who is going to to consistently stay withing 7 ft of the basket. Scals plays on the perimeter. BBD stays midrange, unless there's a mismatch. And Moore is really only productive on spot up jumpers and put backs. So i guess what I'm saying is IF Moore is out there I hope he can hit a few jumpers and space the floor. If he stays in the post all he is doing is clogging it. I really doubt we see Moore and Perk on the court at the same time too often, so no matter what DH is going to have to cover a big that is spacing the floor, Moore included. I think it's going to be key to pull DH away from the basket defensively in this series.
BBD was great getting in the lane on the pick and rolls yesterday.

Good thing we dumped POB so quickly, who needed a 7 footer rebounder and shot blocker, i mean he went to toronto and they plaed him, what dummies, just because he scored for them, blocked shots and turned into a player, hey we still have 20 guards...!

really? POB "turned into a player" - yeah he averaged a whopping 4.7 ppg and 2.5 rpg for a Toronto team that didn't make the playoffs!  Though he did put up a "monster" 16 point 7 board game in a game where they lost to those perennial championship contending Pacers by 29... you really think O'Bryant would be on the floor right now?  he certainly is not even a below average big in the league - he's a fringe out of the league guy... Moore is an upgrade, but still not all that good.  Look at Moore on crappy teams, he averaged almost 10 ppg and over 5 rpg, doesn't mean he'll do it here

Oh I definitely agree, I guess that's what I ment with mismatches for him. When they were switching, which was almost always, Baby was getting in the lane on a smaller player and easily finishing yesterday. He and Rondo ran that play alot yesterday.

No ONE person could have LED the raptors into the playoffs, sarcasm I amsure. No prob....I am just saying POB brought more than Moore, most here didn't see it, maybe we will next year....what about the guard heavy idea...? Why so many...? We could have carried POB easy until the playoffs......and ALL of your opinions are based on GARBAGE time, which is nothing like real time, look at the change in BBD and LEon once they started........it does make a diff, it shouldn't, but it does...! What is the diff between starting and garbage time...? For a center, like everything, NO passes to you, the guard brings it up and everyone tries to make a name for themselves......if Bosh couldn't fix that team how could POB, he was just starting to get some time......We could use ANY 7 footer NOW...!

One more thing the Celts JUST started to use their pick and roll, where the guard actually gives the ball to the big man...finally...it does work.....Doc comes up with some good plays, but he doesn't love the big man type....

I'm saying POB isn't better than Moore, sorry... and if Moore is getting 3 mpg, POB would be getting 0

Well, it is just your opinion and mine....nothing we can prove...! All we can do is hope MM plays great, he needs a breakout game...soon! And POB, well, we will see next year with him...especially when he plays us...!

You just saw MM's breakout game!  Saturday was by far the best we can hope -- and if he can contribute as he did in Game 7 again, I'll be ecstatic.  That said, I think he definitely brings more to the table than POB now, perhaps not so in a year or 2 if POB progresses.

Thanks for this thread -- Mikki deserves praise for his stint on Saturday.  Big key for the C's is Perk and BBD staying out of foul trouble.  I think it may be wise to start Scal, perhaps preserving some minutes for BBD.  Best scenario is that MM plays minimally and hope that we can come close to maintain while he's out there.  Moore SHOULD hack when Howard gets anywhere near the basket -- he'll eat Moore alive and we're better off with his 50% FT stroke.  Perhaps best to put BBD on Howard if he and MM are in together.
