As for his chest, maybe it is a little saggy.

Wait until the pic of A-Roid massaging the other guy's chest comes out

Just furthers my hatred for this guy.  I think I can officially say he has reached Kobe level in my book.  He lies about his lies.

The pitch tipping is nothing to look past either.  It isn't as bad as the roids, but it absolutely goes against the spirit of the game.  I'm sure he's not the only one that has done it, but it is just the icing on the cake for the allegations against him.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

I don't know. I could see ball players looking at the pitch tipping as significantly worse. Not too far off from throwing a game or point shaving. He was doing something (allegedly) that hurt his team and his teammates. That's a big deal.

The Roid stuff is not really a shocker.  We already know he's done them, now the time horizon has increased.  But this stuff about tipping pitches during blowouts, now that some serious allegation.  We're talking about cheating DURING games.  Now thats some crazy stuff.  I think its funny that its an aside to all the steroid stuff.  To me its a much bigger deal!

Was that Jamele Roberts or Selena Hill that wrote this crap?  Because this National Enquirer/Springer type silliness is pure Jamele Hill.  I've seen Roberts on The Sports Reporters and the only difference between Hill and Roberts is the obvious.

SI should be embarassed to put out propoganda from this shameless idiot.

I could care less what Rodriguez did.  MLB's credibility on this subject is a parody of itself.

Jemele Hill spews nonsense.  Selena Roberts is a very good investigative reporter, who thoroughly researched her book and found a ton of sources, and who proved her credibility by breaking the news of A-rod's positive test for steroids.  I don't see how she is a "shameless idiot" because she chose to do her job, and break a major news story.

I don't buy into the "if you don't like the message, attack the messenger" style of debate.  Roberts has done nothing wrong, other than break a major story about one of the game's best players (who many had assumed was clean) during the steroid era.

EDIT:  Here's what Sports Illustrated's editor said about Roberts' reporting:

Quote
“This is the biggest news break since I arrived in 2002,” Sports Illustrated editor Terry McDonnell said on the phone.

The NY Times was upset that they got scooped, and admired Roberts' work:

Quote
The Times had been chasing the A-Rod story. “We were working on it for many weeks,” said Tom Jolly, the paper’s sports editor. “It’s a story whenever there’s smoke around A-Rod for a period of time, and we were chasing that smoke.”

“She did a great job,” said Mr. Jolly of his former colleague’s scoop. “I don’t think there’s any solace with who we get beat by, though.”

John Heyman, often described as a Yankees apologist, wrote:

Quote
I congratulate my esteemed colleague Roberts for coming up with this tasty morsel (and seemingly everything else A-Rod has allegedly done wrong in his fascinating life). She's about the best reporter I've ever worked with, and she's certainly risen to the top of Rodriguez's "hates to face'' list.

This woman isn't Jemele Hill.

How so?  She broke the story of him failing a test, which he admitted to.  How much proof does somebody need?

Oh My!!!!!  What exactly do you think her boss would say?

The exerpts from this are purely speculation and inuendo.

The New York Times?  When was the last time they published anything credible?  I'm sure they admired Robert's work.  It's just like their's.

You're right, Roberts isn't Hill.  Hill speaks from total ignorance.  Roberts speaks like a barber shop/ beauty salon gossip columnist.

The roids are no surprise, but as said before there was/is a steroid era, and everyone is guilty until proven innocent. The third speculation about tipping off pitches is inexcusable, it is cheating and is indeed insanely bad sportsmanship. How could any pitcher on his team have any respect for him and not take him to task, he is screwing with people's careers there.

As for his chest, maybe it is a little saggy.

Would you EVER consider letting this picture be taken if you were A-Roid?! I'd have to chase down and kill the cameraman, and then turn and kill the guy rubbing me down just so there were never any witnesses. Doesn't seem like a picture that would help a professional athletes image...

She had no strong factual proof whatsoever. This book was written solely for monetary purposes; I feel sorry for people who cannot realize that.

The book deal came *after* she researched the story and was on the verge of breaking it.  She was on assignment (from her editor) to research how A-rod was fitting in with the Yankees, and she broke this much more substantial story.  After she knew she was onto something big, she had her agent pitch the book.  However, she didn't begin this research with the book in mind.

I have no problem with her turning her research into a book.  That's what a lot of investigative reporters do.  Good for her for making money off of her hard work.

As for no "factual proof"...  A-rod admitted it, after she broke the story.  How can anybody claim there isn't proof?

She had no strong factual proof whatsoever. This book was written solely for monetary purposes; I feel sorry for people who cannot realize that.

and yet A-rod admitted her bombshell charge was true.

so apperntly she's either the best bluffer of all time and got him to admit to the biggest sin in baseball by scarring him into it, or she had enough to convince the scum bag to fess up to steroid use.

but, i mean, your right, far more belivable that arod tried roids for an incredibly protracted peroid, and didn't keep it up at any other time.

People who belive Arod tried Roids one time, and that he's being railroaded, are the same people that still think santa is real.

He's a scum bag. There have always been rumors that he's a horrable human being, and I for one am glad someone finally broke him enough that he admitted roid use.

Once he's washed up and forgotten, he'll suddenly turn contrite for a book deal, just like every other roid user will.
