Signing Zaza wouldn't upset me.

I'd take either Hansborough for size, or Ellington for possible stardom. I think Ellington's going to be a big late round bargain for someone.

Plus, if I'm Ainge, I've got six must-retains: The starters, and resign Davis. Everyone else is available, although I'd take another look at Walker. But I wouldn't let Walker break down a good deal, either.

I feel like McDyess and BBD are substitutes, but BBD, because of his youth, is better for the Cs.  My priority would be to resign BBD.  If not, then sign McDyess.  But I agree with you that in either case, still need a C.

I'd love to see Patty Mills get drafted by the C's (Gotta support my fellow countryman). He does lack size, but has a genuine 3pt shot and is almost as quick as Rondo. It would give teams nightmares having to try and defend the fast break constantly for an entire game. I'm not sure of his defensive abilities but I'm sure he would be able to learn to stay infront of his man.

Just wondering, if the Celts were to buy a pick in the late teens or early 20's who would be a good fit? A couple of people that come to mind for me would be Tyler Hansbrough and Chase Budinger. Hansbrough could help ease the blow of Powe being out for half the year and Budinger could help spread the floor. Any thoughts?

I'm totally against buying a pick this year in a weak draft.  We already still have enough young players/prospects.  We need to get vets with the little roster space we have.  Unless we do a 3 for 1 type trade then I would consider buying a pick.

I've been hoping we could buy a high 2nd rd pick to steal Green - I sincerely think he could contribute next year backing up Pierce.  His only issue is he's kind of a goof-off, not a bad attitude but just carefree.  A 2nd would probably be cheaper than a mid- to low-1st rd pick, making it more cost-effective as well.

Of course, Walker and Giddens on the squad probably ensures we don't go that route, but this model gives a little evidence that he could be a steal.

If we bought an early 2nd rounder, I'd love to get Dionte Christmas. I've seen him play for the last four years and he's an absolute assassin from deep. He seems to be in the Ray Allen mold and could be a player that could step in and play decent minutes right away.
