After hearing Brad Miller's comments after game 5 I have a feeling the Bulls are going to try to send a message by fouling Rondo hard when he is going in for a layup.
Miller said something like " They have been hitting us in the head all series long and after a while that gets old".  I have to believe one of Chicago's big men is going to take a cheap shot at Rondo. What do you guys think ?

Not if Perkins has anything to say about.

Brad Miller is a punk who deserved a nice shot to the head.

If he wants Perk can give him another few.

the celtics have to  be careful! any retaliation to chicago hostility could not only cost us game 6 for having player(s) ejected from an already shorthanded team, but it could kill us for game 7 if guys get suspended. Big no-no! let them lay out rondo and get tossed, otherwise we may be relying on moore and ta for game 7.

I voted "yes" because, sure, they'll foul him hard when he goes to the rim. But they're not going to do anything blatantly dirty. If they do, they'll only hurt themselves.

You can almost guarantee that the refs will have a hair-trigger on the whistles at the beginning of game 6. This has been a physical series and the potential is there for it to get out of hand, especially after Rondo-gate (despite the fact that I think everyone has made way too big of a deal out of this). Touch fouls going to the basket will be called. Any sign of a hard foul will get a quick flagrant or technical. The league can't afford to let this series turn into a brawl.

Knowing this, Pierce should attack the rim hard in game 6. Rondo too. But especially Pierce - he'll kill them on drives and shoot tons of free-throws.

On the flip side, Perkins and Baby have to walk a very fine line. The Bulls are going to attack the rim hard as well and Perk and Baby will have to avoid collecting fouls. But at the same time, they've got to maintain control over the paint. Perk's 0 foul game last night leads me to believe that he can get his job done without getting into foul trouble. Hopefully Baby can do the same.

Another thought - with the major focus of the war likely being in the paint tomorrow, look for Ray and Eddie to get lots of good looks on the 3-ball...

I voted yes, but I disagree that Rondo's teammates should just let him get blasted.  If Perk, Baby and Pierce believe that any shot on Rondo is unwarranted, then they need to take necessary steps to ensure that it doesn't happen again.  I'm not calling for thuggery - don't retaliate after the whistle, that just leads to ejections.  Instead, wait until next time down the court and put some extra mustard on a couple of screens.  Alternatively, see how they like getting their point guard of the future planted on a foray to the paint.  There are ways to send the message without spending the rest of the game on the sidelines.

normally I would agree but this team is too short handed on big men to get even one foul called on these two guys that is not needed. The thought of a tie game in the 4th with Moore and Scal instead of perk and davis is scary.

i think they definitely will. the problem is, unless its someone out of their rotation, i'm thinking they won't get tossed...the league wants this to go 7. i also am worried about calls in general. i think its highly likely boston gets called for every touch foul in game 6.

I don't think the league has an agenda for this series...Its already gone far beyond anyone's expectations. Thrilling 5 games so far. The only reason it seems like they do have an agenda is because the refs just suck incredibly hard at their jobs. The only ref with an agenda (and not just ridiculous incompetence) is Joey Crawford, and that only relates to his vendetta against the Spurs.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

I'm sure the league is on high alert after the recent comments made by Miller and others. This will probably be relayed to the refs in some form and I expect the refs to crack down at the first sign of over-aggressive play on the court and expect a no-nonsense attitude from them.

common sense doesn't work when talking about NBA officiating, the truth is, anything's possible!

Joakim Noah... 6 fouls, 8 minutes, 3 offensive rebounds, 4 points, and two of those affronts to the Lord that he calls free throws.

I'm calling it.

...Except we'll be in Chicago so probably more like 1 foul 35 minutes etc etc etc.

They will have to catch him somehow first.

Frankly, I'm concerned that he'll slip on a wet spot from Brad Miller's tears.

beautiful
actually i'd assume they will give him a knock but more importantly the only support guys we have are perkins & davis who we need
if doc puts moore in just to clock whoever hit rondo he'll be getting another fine
of course his fine for the bad reffing is $ well spent
