Although I would love to see KG play he should just get the surgery. If, and thats a big if, he comes back I would assume he would be nowhere near full strength, you cannot go from out for the playoffs to full strength in a few days. And without a fully healthy KG we still are not beating the cavs especially with an overly tired Paul Pierce.

I do not want to be a pessimist but this is the truth and it is hard to admit but this year is not our year

why on earth would i admit that before we get our ticket punched? do i get a special pessimist badge for quitting on the team earlier than the fool's who think anything can happen in the playoffs?

I think it's pretty clear we aren't as strong of a team as last year, but i'll hold off on writing this year off till someone punches us out, thanks.
We aren't as strong with the injuries.

Without the injuries, I think we are as strong as last year.

right, thats what i ment. if w were 100%, we'd be better than last year due to perk's and rajon's improvement.

Ditto, Crownsy.  And a TP for hanging in there like a real fan and not committing suicide off the moving bandwagon like some.
Crownsy - that's easily the best expression of my own thoughts that I've seen on CelticsBlog - perhaps ever.

I think KG will play too.  All I base that on is the fact that he played 4 consecutive games last month.  My current uneducated theory is that KG is capable of playing 3 or 4 games at limited minutes and then his knee will be toast and he'll be unable to move.  So... I'm just guesstimating that the Celtics are waiting until it is absolutely necessary and not wanting to waste those 3-4 games on Chicago.   Kinda like a secret weapon... think of KG as NOS in those crappy "Fast and Furious" movies or something... we know he'll give us a burst, but only temporarily... we'll press the button when (IF) we get close to the finish line.

I agree, I think this is what will happen and it'd be really cool to see KG back.

However I can't help wondering if Doc will play KG if (and that's a big if) the Celtics are down 3-2 after tonight's game, heading in Chicago. I think Boston will win tonight but I'm really wondering if Doc would play KG if our team had a big trouble to get to the 2nd round. If the season was on the line against the Bulls, would KG return?

I've wondered the same thing.  IF we had our backs against it with Chicago, would Doc pull the KG trigger?

I disagree.  Our window to win championships is pretty small.  If he can come back, and we can win one this year, it's a worthwhile risk.  If he destroys the knee completely (God forbid) then he can retire next year and his salary will become the greatest trade chip in all the land!!  I know that's harsh, but no guts, no glory.  The guy has had a long career.  Being cautious with the knee isn't really something he/we can afford, time-wise.  All our guys are getting older.  If he packs it in until next year, who knows what could happen to Paul, Ray or Rondo by that time.  Nope.  We need to go for it all right here, right now.

Kevin just needs to rub some dirt on it and walk it off.  This could be our last year.  If he literally can't play well, and he hurts the team on the court, then he shouldn't suit up.  But if he can help us even a little bit, we need him out there.  Knee injury, schmee injury.

Well, the way it is right now....there might not be a next round unless we whip chicago......besides KG needs to keep perk from making those dumb picks altogether, he has been making the same mistakes on those ALL year, he isn't going to learn so just stop...!
