I've been a fan of this guy for 2 years. Just love watching him. Don't know how much Portland values him, but I do know they're committed long term to Martell Webster who missed this season due to injury.

First we resign BBD then package him with (TA or House or JR) for Travis Outlaw & Sergio Rodriguez.

No need to explain why its a good trade for Boston. For Portland they receive BBD who is a legit PF in the NBA. He can score inside(?) outside(?) and has the best hand 4 PF. Beside Portland also has an abundance of SF and a true backup PF/C.

PG Rondo   Sergio    Gabe
SG Ray     Walker    Travis
SF Pierce  Travis
PF Garnett Mcdyess(?)Powe(?)
C  Perk    Rasho(?)  Shelden Williams(?)  (?)

What's Portland's cap situation?

If their that high on baby that they'd trade outlaw and sergio for him, couldn't they just offer a contract boston would be hesitant to match to baby?

Its around $51 million next season so far.

You are correct. They could easy match what we have to offer. Even if they don't, BBD might not be what they want. The reason why I'm suggesting this trade is cause their abundance at SF and not enough PF. Portland could bite on this trade

Crownsy, excellent thinking.

Remember also that Portland didn't want Mike Conley Jr, a top 10 draft pick, and Hakim Warrick, a pretty good pf in his own right, in return for Sergio and Outlaw...why would they take baby?

I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for repeatedly and inexcusably referring to Travis Outlaw as Bo Outlaw ::)
Please don't ban me.

We're going to need bigs next year.  Might as well sign and keep Baby awhile longer.  And add some more bigs on top.

Can Josh Childress defend well at the 3 and is there a chance in heck he returns from Europe?

Portland values Travis Outlaw very highly and they'll be looking for something a lot better than BBD in an Outlaw trade. They're not giving up their 6th man for a fourth big in the rotation.

if we can't get outlaw (who has risen to the top of my off season target list) i would consider waiting a year and trying to land him in the big FA summer of 2010. with the glut of big names available in '10 we may be able to sign him for a fairly reasonable pricetag. of course he has tons of talent and if he has a big breakout year he may move way up the list of names available in '10 and out of our range.

if we can't trade for him and don't want to risk loosing out in a bidding war next summer i'd be ok with signing hakim warrick this summer. he is not the same caliber of defender as outlaw but he is long, athletic and a good scorer who may prove to be an above average defender in our system (please don't go thibideau).

either way i think out biggest need is a long athletic swing forward to back up pierce and KG. i'd like to land a young'n whith lots of potential who could help bridge us past KG

Sergio sucks but just BBD for Outlaw and I'd take it. Outlaw's only like 24 also I think.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was going to say.  Oden, Pryz, and Aldridge form a pretty good big rotation right now.  I doubt they'd pay heavily for BBD, especially because SF is one of their weaknesses.

I personally don't like Travis Outlaw.  He settles for mid-range jumpers all day, and takes badly contested shots.  In fact I thought Portland's offense was hurt more than it was helped by his presence.  If, and I don't think they are, POR is interested in BBD, then I would rather take a gamble with Webster who seems to be the odd man out there anyways with an emerging Bayless, Rudy and Roy in the back court and Batum looking like he fits in nicely at SF.  But who knows what their roster is going to look like when Pritchard, the dealmaker of all dealmakers, is done.

Tp just for trying Change. I think Portland should give us some talent from there team as Karma from the B Roy trade.

I like the way your thinking if not Outlaw then Batum who started for them at the end of the season.

I would be interested in Outlaw, Rudy Fernandez, Batum and Bayless.
