Does anything drastic need to happen?  Obviously, we lose this series and KG has his surgery no later than 24 hours after the final game.

What I think is that actually besides the bench needing a big upgrade, nothing will really happen.  This is the kind of series, considering we're missing our best player and defender, that it'll be the fans hurting much more than the players.  If this team was completely healthy and we were at this point, then I think it's a different story.

Man, tomorrow night can't come quick enough.  I get naucious just thinking about the possibility of this series not going our way.

we sign better proven bench players next year, not former first round picks who we hope are diamonds in the rough, and hope KG is 100% by tip off next year, and the world keeps spinning.

Oh, and i instantly become a fan of whatever team the lakers are playing, and hope for a upset.

...no drastic changes... just more time to rest and go for it next year.

In the off season, we just need someone who is a PLUS at the backup 5... (we only have 1 rim defender in this series - Perkins) and a legit 6th man. Then we become the green machine again.

Heresy
???

If we lose, we all root against the Lakers and their 15th championship and against Jackson getting a 10th championship.

Nothing changes -- I don't think it matters whether Boston win a Championship or lose in the first round, I don't think either end result changes how they approach next season.

Nothing drastic.  Remember, this team started the year 27-2 - before all the injuries.  Rondo's emergence as a star and Perk's emergence as a solid center along with a healthy KG will leave the C's with the best starting 5 in the league.  Focus will be on improving the bench.

I agree that the moment the C's are out, I become a huge Cleveland fan as they seem the only team capable (other than a healthy C's team) of beating the team that shall not be named.

not a whole lot needs to be done, minus getting another big. if we were healthy, we'd be fine. strong starting 5, strong bench (our bench rotation would have been something like scal, powe, steph, house, baby, TA - that's solid and deep). if we were remotely healthy, i think we'd still be the favorites to win the title.

This is not something I really want to think about now but I just wanted to mention that I WANT Powe to come back.  I really hope the Celtics find it in their hearts to give this guy a contract even though he just tore his ACL.   I think they could find a way to sign Davis as well and I don't want to see Moore coming back next year.   I'd like to see an upgrade for his spot maybe Rasheed Wallace, McDyess or someone similar.  If something like this happens Powe can take his time coming back even KG if he is not ready by the start of next season.  KG's contract is down about 8 mil next season so maybe signing these guys is feasible.
