we sign better proven bench players next year, not former first round picks who we hope are diamonds in the rough, and hope KG is 100% by tip off next year, and the world keeps spinning.

Oh, and i instantly become a fan of whatever team the lakers are playing, and hope for a upset.

I'd root for the Lakers. If the Cavs lose the odds of LeBron leaving probably go up, giving us an easier path for the rest of the window.

That's Psychotic.  I don't know what's worse... Lakers getting their 15th title or Phil passing Red.   I think at gunpoint if you asked me to pick between these two scenarios... I'd probably pick option #2

Option #1:  Celtics somehow miraculously beat the Bulls, Magic and Cavs ... get swept by the Lakers in the finals.

Option #2:  Cavs beat the Celtics in the ECF... beat the Lakers in the finals.

....

Go LeBron.

Btw... there is speculation that LeBron would be more likely to leave if the Cavs WON, because then he'd be leaving Cleveland on good terms... but it doesn't matter much, because LeBron wouldn't be able to leave until after next season... and our window is likely closed by the time he suits up for the Knicks.

IF they lose:

1. PP gets some needed rest
2. Ray Allen continues to be clutch
3. Rondo heals his ankles and works on his jumper
4. KG gets 100 percent healthy
5. moore, marbury, pruitt are all gone
6. BBD resigns
7. BOSTON FINALLY ADDRESSES THE BENCH IN THE OFFSEASON
8. They comeback in much better shape than now
9. i cheer for the cavs to beat the lakers

thats the thing...we got what we need ....house is not hittin the big buckets we need...big baby is missin layups...!....scal is tryin but is making big mistakes...

we got what we need  we jus got to get it together

I totally disagree with this. Our bench is an absolute mess, and must be gutted.

When the season is over, we get Garnett healthy, resign Davis and begin gutting the bench, starting with the recognition of a glaring mistake by the front office. We cannot begin play next season without a competent three off the bench, good enough to stick a perimeter shot and play a little physical defense. The inability to fill that spot has a lot to do with the quality of Pierce's game at present.

Then, we get a competent 5 - no more stiffs, Danny - and sign a vet point. Who those are depends on the market, but with one season in the window lost to injuries and poor bench play, we cannot spend another season fishing in dumpsters for "low risk, no upside" stiffs like Patrick O'Bryant.

honestly..i only keep eddie house and baby on the bench...i would also gut it and bring in some size and a wing to spell pierce...i love powe but they cannot afford to keep him unless it is for a league minimum...they need to add 4 or 5 strong pieces off the bench

I agree. Try to move Scal. Move Tony Allen one way or another. I don't know if NBA contracts have a conduct clause, but I'd be checking that out if there is one. Waive Moore. Probably let Marbury walk, although my mind's open on that one still.

We are not close to a competitive bench right now - need four or five players.

I love it how we just act like we go out there and sign 4-5 great backups. If you remember the last offseason, we weren't getting the doors beat down with guys asking us for contracts. Other than Posey who wanted more money than he was worth, we really didn't have a lot of "better" free agents out there that were thinking we were their first choice.

Name me a great free agent from the list of who signed out there that we could have signed but passed on that was any better than what we got! I might agree with Chris Anderson, but who else?!

I'm sure Ben Gordon's thrilled some of you think Posey wanted more money than he's worth. Wonder what he'd be worth on this disaster of a bench right now.

Frankly, just about anyone Ainge could have brought in would have been an improvement over Tony Allen, O'Blount and Darius Miles, two of which didn't last and one who should be gone the moment this season ends.

Roger Mason ring a bell? Andersen? Mutombo? Remember the Magette stuff?

Ainge did as poor a job as possible this summer. He needs to do much better this summer, or we'll be in this spot next spring when injuries strike again.

Trade KG, Big Baby, Mikki Moore, and Giddens, and draft picks for Al Jefferson and Ryan Gomes.

Trade Marbury and draft picks for Delonte West.

Sign Bruno Sundov.

Get the band back together with Ray Allen on keyboard.

C Perkins/Bruno Sundov
PF Al Jeff/Gomes/Walker
SF Pierce/Walker/Gomes
SG R Allen/DWest
PG Rondo/DWest

Edit:
Hell, throw in Ray Ray to the Twolves and go original youth movement.
Perk, Al jeff, Pierce, DWest, Rondo

1. Our players get some much needed rest;
2. KG gets the surgery he needs;
3. Free Agent watch begins; top of the list (right now) is McDyess
4. The "Beat LA" chants start.
Celtics fan for life.

Another hopeful I'd like to see is Kyle Korver opt out of his contract with Utah this summer.  He could be a solid back-up 3 to Pierce and also be apart of the smallball lineup at the end of games with him at the 3 and Pierce at the 4.

Much like last year with when they had Posey at the 4.  Imagine needing the last shot to a game...the lineup on the floor is Rondo, Ray, Korver, Pierce, and KG?

If you need a three, replace House with Rondo.  Teams wouldn't know what to do!

We FIRE DOC RIVERS!!!

..and replace him with Tom Thibodeau

I'd give him a raise for achieving as much as he did with a team with zero frontcourt
