Anytime a player dominates a series in so many different statistical areas then  that player is "something different". Players like MJ, Larry, Magic, Hakeem, and today Lebron are all players who fit this category-"something different". Rondo is dominating these playoffs in similar fashion to those players. The great thing is we are really seeing only the "tip of the iceberg" with him.

Quote of the night, " His parents should have named him somethin' easier to say."

Chuck is hilarious but I dont agree with this one.  I think Rondos name is awesome, wish I had a name that just rolled right off the tongue like that.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Thank You Barkley...

That's all I wanted for Rondo, some real recognition from non-Celtics affiliated national media.

Now if only Doc would realize that. I don't understand why Rondo wasn't really a part of what we were doing through both over times.
There are multiple reasons. The announcers noted that Doc wanted ball movement in the TO, but Pierce decided to go solo. The other players seemed like they didn't want to shoot in OT, so the ball always came back to Pierce.

Rondo is the PG. When he tells the other players what to do, they usually do it. If Rondo decides to defer to Pierce, you can't blame Doc. As much as I disliked PP's play, I don't want to be too tough on Pierce because others looked like they didn't want to shoot in the OT putting him in the position to fail.

I am surprise we were never able to get a Pierce-Gordon matchup through picks. I didn't see the point picking to get a Pierce-Hinrich matchup, since Hinrich is often their best defender on the floor.

I'm not buying the bit about other players not wanting the ball. It's not like Rondo was dribbling around finding open guys, and then they passed down shots. Rondo was simply dribbling the ball up the court and handing it off to Pierce.

You are right that it might not have been Doc's decision. I just find it hard to believe Rondo would keep going to the play when he sees it's not working. Doc on the other hand has undying faith in the Big 3. I could definitely see him running the play over and over waiting for it to pay off.

Kenny Smith and Barkley both picked Rondo as the best PG so far in the playoffs, over Paul, Rose, and Chauncey.

Webber went with Chauncey.
