He also said "Man, Rondo is something different". My basic knowledge of the english language tells me that this is meant as a real compliment.
Furthermore, he picked the Celtics to win the series, since Perk and Baby have clearly outplayed the Chicao bigs, in his opinion.

Nice to finally see Rondo get the recognition he deserves.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I don't understand why there's still no consensus on how his name is pronounced. His teammates all say RAYjon but the media and even he pronounce it differently...

Rondo sure has been great. Did he get the triple double today? Is he averaging one for the series?
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

That's the way Rajon Rondo pronounces it, and that's that. He oughta know. I disagree that ALL his teammates mispronounce his name; some of them get it right. So do most of the Celtics broadcasters, and some of the local radio/tv talking heads. A lot of people who should know better mispronounce it. But the only correct way is to listen to him say his own name.

There's a clip that used to be played fairly often on the big screen at the Garden, where he starts with the simple sentence, "I'm Rajon Rondo." Is anyone going to argue that they know better than Rajon Rondo about how to pronounce his own name? End of debate.

He's a great player and a champion. He deserves the respect of saying his name correctly. Any local sports talking head, and especially any Celtics broadcaster, who mispronounces his name, should be ashamed. I won't mention any names, but the initials "Donny Marshall" come to mind.

Thank You Barkley...

That's all I wanted for Rondo, some real recognition from non-Celtics affiliated national media.

Now if only Doc would realize that. I don't understand why Rondo wasn't really a part of what we were doing through both over times.

Regardless of outcome R2 has had himself a ridiculous series so far.  His numbers today: 25-11-11, 2steals, only 1TO.  Series average so far: 23.3pt-10.8reb-10assists, 3.5 steals, 1.8TOs.  It'd be a real coming out party for him, if the media (other than Sir Charles) could get over Rose.  I wonder if he can keep it up on one leg, but if he can, boy it bodes well for next year.

  • Let's Go Celtics
He also was the only was who came out after Game 2 and said the Celtics ALSO could be up 2-0 very easily.  Everyone was saying the Bulls could've been up 2-0 easily.

Rondo's been phenomenal.  This is the consistent series of games we've been looking for, home and away.  It's sad that they didn't utilize him the right way down the stretch today.  If they did we'd be up 3-1.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

I'm sure that the followers of Basketball Jesus in Cleveland aren't going to like Chuck saying that.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Now if only Doc would realize that. I don't understand why Rondo wasn't really a part of what we were doing through both over times.
There are multiple reasons. The announcers noted that Doc wanted ball movement in the TO, but Pierce decided to go solo. The other players seemed like they didn't want to shoot in OT, so the ball always came back to Pierce.

Rondo is the PG. When he tells the other players what to do, they usually do it. If Rondo decides to defer to Pierce, you can't blame Doc. As much as I disliked PP's play, I don't want to be too tough on Pierce because others looked like they didn't want to shoot in the OT putting him in the position to fail.

I am surprise we were never able to get a Pierce-Gordon matchup through picks. I didn't see the point picking to get a Pierce-Hinrich matchup, since Hinrich is often their best defender on the floor.
