Anyone see the Vitamin Water promoting both Kobe and LeBron.  I remember Vitamin Water forking over 300 million to 50 cent and G Unit a just a little while ago.  Does it seem like theyre already advertising the Cavs Lakers matchup for the Finals?
The NBA..where "this whole sport is a business and the referees decide games and David Stern is a snake and is only in this for the money" happens.

I seen that commercial during the Lakers game last night and I was so disgusted with the NBA for this. Sure there promoting their two best players, but behind the scenes there advertising a finals matchup that is not 100% guranteed.

It will be hilarious if either the Cavs or Lakers miss the finals. It will be a huge slap in the face to the NBA for having the vitmin water commercial advertising the finals in the 1st round of the playoffs.
Let's Go Celtics!!

The commercial is an argument of who the best player in the league is. It in no way insinuates a finals matchup.

How dare a company want to use the generally considered 2 best players and 2 of the most marketable players in the NBA today to promote their product.  The audacity.

This isn't the first time Vitamin Water has tried to pull this crap either.  Just look at this commercial to promote a Red Sox/Bears Championship of the Universe match:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfwqSBWDW_A

Or just last year when they tried to use this commercial to get Shaq back into the Finals.  Boy was their face red when that plan backfired though:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ti4aCoikJBE

And let's not fortget this Vitamin Water commercial that is blatantly saying Christian Laettner was better than any Celtic player ever:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFNSl4IFRfg

I thing we should all boycott Vitamin Water for trying to pull this crap.  ::)

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

They've been hinting at and advertising this for a while.  It's their ideal Finals matchup and they'll do everything they can to milk it as much as possible before, during, and after it happens.  Here's hoping their party gets ruined somehow.

Do your research before you post.

When Glaceau was snatched up by Coke at the end of May for the price of $4.1 billion, word spread that 50 Cent would take home $400 million as an owner of 10 percent of Glaceau's stock.

While 50 Cent (real name: Curtis Jackson) did very well on the deal, Forbes reports that he took home just $100 million from the sale.

Good try, though.  ::)

Do your research before you post. He is a minority owner, and the money you're referring to is his "piece of the cake".

Yeah it's basically already been said but it's not the NBA its more different companies trying to capitalize on the fact that this matchup is what everyone expects and the Kobe LeBron discussion is hotly debated in many circles. Im sure all of us here have engaged in the same debate many times. They are trying to sell Vitamin Water so they use this debate to get people to their web site. No conspiracy, but the NBA certainly benefits from all the attention Kobe vs. LeBron gets. There's definitely alot of money involved but it does not bother me and I would be very satisfied as a Celtic fan for either of those teams to come up short of the finals.

Actually there are a few reports out there claiming that 50 Cent actually didn't make $400 Million on the Vitamin Water deal.

In an exclusive interview, ****.com spoke with an investment banker familiar with the proposed Energy Brands acquisition. And according to the banker, 50's equity interest in the beverage company is far less than 10%. The banker explains, "50 Cent has a licensing agreement with Energy Brands which pays him a set fee and gives him a percentage of the sales from Formula 50 [The flavor specifically designed by 50]. He does not own a significant interest in the company ... The 10% number you hear is pure fiction."

However, a spokesperson for Energy Brands responds "While 50 Cent and many other world re-known celebrities have very lucrative and fruitful partnerships with our brand, any report stating personal figures of ownership in our company are erroneous at this time. Glaceau and Mr. Jackson have a deal in place that grants him partial ownership in his own brand. Both parties remain excited about the future of our relationship."

It's hard to know which one is actually true: The $400M or the opposite, because there are also quite a few news sources that say 50 got $400M in the deal.  But either way it seems threats13 is off.
