Big Baby is Legit!

14 pts, 9 reb, 6 assists :o, 6 steals :o and 3 blocks!  And this was a huge playoff game for the Celtics.

This kid has been coming up big in big games since being a rookie.  He's definitely legit and I'd be very happy if the Celtics re-signed him.  And how old is he? 22?

Whoa, tiger.  One game.

In all seriousness, though, he's stepped up big since KG and Powe went down.  He may be playing his way out of Boston, but if he stick around I'm looking forward to seeing him grow - he's interesting in the sense that I really have no idea what his upside is.

Great game by Baby. Once again, early in the game, he was doing some dumb dribble drives and forcing shots that aren't there. When there were options available for him once he drew in the defense. But then he settled down.

Early in the year I was not sure BBD had it in him to perform on the level he is playing.  I would have been happy to see him traded in an effort to get "longer".

I have completely changed my opinion in the last 3 months, he has filled the role Doc has asked of him perfectly.  Now I hope that the Celtic can find a way to sign him next year.  I am excited about seeing him come off the bench next year.  Maybe he has a 6th man award in his future.

He's playing great in the playoffs, but I think we may be overestimating the worth he's going to bring in contact-wise.  Long term he's still widely regarded as having serious drawbacks.  Add that to the fact that he's developed here and I think we will be in a great position to sign him for more money, but not a ton more.

Big baby is a real good team player and the celtics are as best fit for him there is in the league. On an individual talent point he is mere average though.

I still say he easily should be signed to a 4 year 12 million dollar deal and danny should do it soon

I think you're underselling him. He's got great feet and hands for a player of his size. As long as he can keep the weight where it is, or lose a bit more potentially, he'll remain a somewhat unique player.

The C's are a great fit for him though. We have strong rebounders at each position to compensate for his biggest weakness, defensive rebounding.
