ESPNnews, on the rolling bar at the bottom, has a quick line that says that Doc Rivers wants KG to hold on surgery for now.

I guess I don't get it...didn't Doc in his postgame interview yesterday say that KG was NOT playing this postseason and that he has already moved on without him for the rest of this year?

The only reason I can think of as to why Doc wouldn't want him to get his surgery now would be because he still believes KG can still play in these playoffs.

KG=Kirk Gibson.   Gibson couldn't even walk in 1988.  He hobbled up to the plate and smacked a game winner off of the greatest reliever in his greatest season ever, Eckersley.  If Gibson hit a base hit to center, they would have thrown him out at first.  People went crazy, the Dodgers won the series.   It is regarded as one of the most dramatic home runs ever, and some people rank it as the #1 heroic play in sports history. Not only that but we got to see one of the greatest celebration moves ever, the double tug with the right arm as Kirk rounded 2nd. Our KG has a chance to duplicate that feat.  Why not give it a try.

i wonder if Doc might want to bring KG back for only a few minutes but only to inspire the guys. it would certainly lift up the teams spirits to see him on the court even if its only for a few minutes. on saturday, they played with little heart and desire esp. on the defensive end. maybe Doc wants KG to spark the squad if they can get to the ECF or finals.

This uncertainty is going to cost us games.  The whole team and the fanbase is totally drained from this guessing crap.   >:(

If anything is possible, then why isn't this:Kevin Garnett walking on to the court with the Celtics jersey #5 on his back.

Medicine isn't an exact science.. but I agree, this is distracting. And probably the last thing KG would want.

And maybe they don't want KG to have surgery now so he can be on the bench and support his team.

He's not going to be on the bench.  He hates being on the bench if he can't play, doesn't matter if it's the playoffs.  Hence why he wasn't on the bench for the second half in game 1.  It tears him apart if he can't be out on the court.

Is the whole team caught up in it?  Or do they all know he's really coming back?  While I doubt this, it is possible that this is all just a game to sit Garnett during the Bulls series since we should (at least we hope) be able to take them without him.
