If the Celtics can't win it all...i rather see the Rockets win.I think Yao would be a proud babysitter of our trophy for a season.

There are no winners in a Lakers-Cavs series, only losers.

Seriously, the media coverage of a Lakers-Cavs series will be absolutely insufferable. Stuart Scott gushing about LeBron, Screaming A Smith fawning over Kobe, I'd be hard pressed to watch a single minute of it.

This is 100%. +1 TP. But, I did come up with the one and only scenario in which I could get excited for the Cavs:

Delonte West Finals MVP.

The Portland Trailblazers. NBA Champion Steve Blake. NBA Champion Travis Outlaw. NBA Champion Joel Pryzbilla. NBA Champion Brandon Roy. All of those make me smile. Also, Oden could Darko (being the lesser of a good draft class, but being the first to win a title) Durant.

TP for you WW, not only for the DWest scenario, but the new avvie, which engenders (no pun intended) way too many off-color jokes at Varejao's expense.

I really wouldn't have a problem pulling for whatever East team goes to the Finals if it's against LA.

I think LA will go down to the Jazz in round one. If the celtics don't win it, I would like to see the Nuggets win it. Don't count out the celtics yet though.

God, that would be a horrible 2 teams to have to watch in the finals as far as we are concerned. I could never root for the Lakers, even if they are playing the hated Cavs. The announcers kissing their behinds would be unbearable. They would probably play the whole series with 0 fouls on the 2 of them.

What would the over under be on Wally's back going out while holding the trophy? God, can you imagine him and Delonte kissing the trophy- Yikes- although I always liked Delonte's scrappiness.

the only way he gets Finals MVP is if he takes out Kobe's knee. With lebron and mo, there is no way delonte see's the ball enough to be considered otherwise

Which team would you rather win the Finals? Lakers or Cavs?

I'm not saying that we don't have a chance, because I still think that we have a very good one, but the media is seeming to count us out. ESPN pretty much assured a Lakers v Cavs Finals this morning because of the news about KG.

If this series does occur, I think I would actually rather see the Lakers win. I would've never thought that it would be possible for me to say this, but I think my hatred of the Cavs and LeBron is just beginning to catch up with the Lakers, and maybe even surpassing them.

I honestly couldn't state it any better than you did in how I feel. TP for you

I gotta go with the Cavs, I just don't want the Lakers inching any closer to our total of 17 banners, if they win, it would put them at 15 and they still have quiet a few good years left

Tough one, between the Cavs and the Lakers I've gotta go with the Cavs.  I mean, just close your eyes and imagine the Lakers winning it:

Sasha Vuyacic flinging his arms around Paul Gasol who is posing proudly like a matador, confetti streaming down on the heads of the team as Kobe lifts his shiny Championship MVP trophy in the air to the frenzied crowd of yellow jerseys.  The newspaper headlines the next day, the fawning over Kobe, the proof that he could in fact carry a team all the way purely on the strength of his love for himself.  I just can't live with that...

Look, don't get me wrong, I can't stand Lebron, I wish there was some way both teams could be denied, but I can sleep at night knowing that a young prodigy with a transcendent game brought a championship to a fanbase that has never tasted what we did last year.  And it would close the window on Kobe's MJ dreams just a little bit more.  Oh, did a mention how happy I would be for Delonte?  He was traded away so that last year could happen, he deserves it, I will always be a fan of his.

Cavs, definitely, it has to be the Cavs...
