Just to stuff it in the Lakers and Cavs face.

This team is good enough.  With Pierce playing the best ball of his career and Baby putting up 20/10 in Kevin's place, we still have a fighter's chance.

I am what I am because of who we all are

Don't stop believing, Boston.

Yeeehaaaaw!
I'm on board!
Celtics fan for life.

I think we can win it all anyways.   Think about it, if we got Marbury two years ago instead of Garnett would people have been talking about a Big 3? Marbury has that kind of star power and if he can regain his touch we have a chance.  Plus, Orlando is without Nelson, and Cavs may be without Big Ben. Also if one more Cavs big goes down they will be left with only 2 who can actually play, because of right now without Big Ben they only have 3 quality bigs Z, Varrejeo & Smith, and we have 4:Powe,BBD,Perk,Mikki.  #18 LET'S GO!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly... it's a bummer that we'll likely be beat by Chicago or Orlando with KG out, but... meh... no big deal.

I kinda looked at this entire season like playing with house money.

Last year was an unfathomably inexplicably awesome season.  Any long-term Celtic fan who followed this team religiously was pretty much emotionally dead after the team got the #5 pick in the lotto.   To somehow turn that into a championship season was just unthinkable and ridiculous.   A 62 win season and a 1st round exit is just a cherry on top.

It's Bron and Kobe's season.   Ours was last year.  I've already made peace with that.

Amen to most all of that, yeah, we have definitely been treated to a spectacular turnabout.  But I don't think the C's are totally done yet.  Every game we win in the playoffs will be that much sweeter.  In the end though, I don't think hope can compete with the length advantage the Lakers will have if no KG, even if we could make it that far.

In my dreams though, the C's and the Spurs will limp bravely into the Finals, where we will see Garnett take the court to challenge Duncan in a series for the ages.

Its true. 1 year ago at this time, I fully thought 2009 was the Lakers year. Then the C's decided to pass on getting FA help in 2008 (I don't blame them considering how bad the market was), and we got passed by the Cavs and Lakers.

Still, 62 wins is an excellent accomplishment. And this team can still lay a beat down without KG. As I have said for the past month, this team is not going down quietly. They will one heck of a tough out, and may surprise us.

Count me in. TP for an extremely positive thread. I know defense wins championships but mental toughness does too and these Celtics have that in spades.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Here's what I just send to my girlfriend to lift her spirts (and mine), and to my cousin who is a Bulls fan first and a Celtics fan second.

The Cavalier’s have to play the Pistons in the first round -  a team who have been to the Eastern Conference Finals for the last 6 years, including 2 finals appearances.  If they get past that, they will probably have to play D.Wade and the Miami Heat in the second round.  Getting past either of those teams is no easy feat.

The Magic are hurt with Lewis and Turkoglu out with injuries in recent days, not to mention their All-Star point guard is out for the season, and you could even throw in that Dwight Howard has played some terrible ball over the last two weeks.

Anyone can get hurt.  Lebron can get hurt, Kobe can get hurt.

Paul Pierce really is one of the most underrated players in the league.  Bill Simmons knows how good he is – scroll down to number 6 and read what he wrote about him.  Ray Allen is better than he was last year.  So are Eddie and Perkins and Rondo and Powe and Davis and probably Tony Allen too, not to mention Marbury is a huge upgrade over Sam Cassell.

And even if we face the Magic and the Cavaliers and the Lakers, I still say anything can happen!  Isn’t that what the NBA slogan is….

It’s not over yet!

I would love it! Perk and Timmy - battling for the best fake innocence act in a finals series. My dream match-up for the ages ;D No seriously Celtics/Spurs would be great even without KG and Manu.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
Now I'm going to tell you something I've kept to myself for years. None of you ever knew Kevin Garnett. He was long before your time, but you all know what a tradition he is at TD Banknorth Garden. And the last thing he said to me, "Indeed Mestivo Proceed," he said, "sometime when the team is up against it and the breaks are beating the boys, tell them to go out there with all they've got and win just one for the Ticket. I don't know where I'll be then, Indeed Francis Proceed," he said, "but I'll know about it and I'll be happy."

like that is always lethal." - Evan 'The God' Turner

anything is possible, it would definitely shock the world, but I won't give up, can't give up on this team - heck a team with A. Walker and Pierce and nobody went to the ECF, this team has Pierce, Ray, Rondo, and a Walker

People seriously think the Bulls can beat us in the first round? Not to jinx anything but I say there's no chance. A team with Pierce and Allen who can still put up 25+ on any given night is not going to lose to an inexperience Bulls team in the first round. No way.

We're going to make it to the ECF. This team was 18-7 without KG. It's not like we completely sucked. Banner 18.. here we come.
PHX Suns: Russell Westbrook, Chris Bosh, Tristan Thompson, Trevor Ariza, Tony Allen, Trey Lyles, Corey Brewer, Larry Nance Jr., Trey Burke, Troy Daniels, Joffrey Lauvergne, Justin Holiday, Mike Muscala, 14.6

Thats right. We were prepared for this anyways so lets go do business. Paul Pierce is a HOF he's son a scoring title he's considered one of the best players at his position in the past 10 years. Ray Allen... also a HOF, best shooter in the history of the NBA but is also a very good all around SG, he's got the whole package. Rajon Rondo is the best defensive PG in the game and is top three floor general in the league, and hell he can get the hole at will against Derrick Rose, Ray Alston, Mo Williams, Tony Parker, Mario Chalmers, Andre Miller or any other PG he might match up against. PERK IS A BEAST, the best C in the league is Dwight Howard and its Perks ability to contain Superman that will allow us to beat The Magic without the Big Ticket. Big Baby and Leon will tag team and fight for every rebound and can hold their own on the offensive end, they've shown huge growth over the past year and i expect to see them make huge contributions going forward.
