This team leading up to the Cavs massacre was the hottest team in the league, winning 9 of 10. We just got Powe back and he looks good, Tony Allen too. We have at least another week before we really have to bring Garnett back and we have proven that we can beat both Orlando and Clevelan without KG, at least at home. If he is back we can, and will, advance to the Finals. Then, it's anybody's series. Time for the Truth to come out!

The silver lining in all the injuries this season is that those injured will be able to have fresh legs going into the playoffs.  If Powe's recent play is indicative of what he can do being off for 3 weeks late in the season, then if KG is healthy, he may be a monster during the playoffs.

either chicago will be an easy out or this will be a slugfest....glad boston plays early saturday...dont have to sit around all day waiting

Hmm...arent those the only 2 options
easy series...or not?

i mean game wise..i think it will go 4 or it will be a 7 gamer...don't think it will be 5 or 6 games...and the more i read today about KG makes me think he isnt going to be able to go...

We'll see...Im not one whos that worried about KG 24/7....if he isnt healthy, he shouldnt play. Even when he was healthy this year he wasnt playing as good as last year on either end of the court, whats he gonna be like  after being out 8 weeks? unless theyre just completely fibbing and KG is 100%, he isnt going to step into this series and dominate, its more likely he'll struggle.

I want KG healthy, but I dont want him playing if he isnt...some things are more important than championships....like KGs career.

Looks like KG may not play at all! this would be a huge loss. Paul Pierce is going to have to absolutely take over every game against the cavs like he did that one time last year in the playoffs. we are going to need consistant epic performances like that

Very winnable series. The matchup doesn't scare me.

But ... I do not like at all the level of basketball this team is playing right now, particularily the inability to muster defensive intensity and effort for any length of time. We're not playing at a championship level. In fact, we're not even close.

So there are reasons to be concerned.

What side of the ball? Offensively, this team has been performing at a high level in the last dozen games sans the Cleveland game.

Defensively, this team's toughness has been up and down in every game KG has not participated in, so I agree with you...to and extent.

That's why KG playing 15-18 mpg would be such an important boost - when he is on the court and on the sideline this team has championship-level defense.

I fully expect Boston to have a plan with KG in regards to his minutes. Maybe start of the  1st, 3rd and end of 4th -something like that.

KG won't have to play back-to-backs and they have the depth in the frontcourt with Powe/Davis that will allow the team to fill in the missing minutes.

I think with selective usage, tons of rest/recovery/treatment in-between games, and limited minutes the team can get the best out of KG in spurts --- kinda like Bill Walton in '86.

If KG is on the court, even if its not for 40 mpg, this team is a championship level team on both sides of the ball...his presence is immeasurable...

Bill,

I think if there's any way KG can get on the court, he will, even for limited minutes.  The intangible qualities he brings day in day out are what the Celtics are going to need to go deep into the playoffs.

On a side note, what are your thought on Ike Diogu?  He was a first rounder with the Warriors, never got a chance and has drifted around the last few years. He was a better player than Powe in college because he has a nice little jumper.  Due to injuries, Diogu played 40 minutes the last 2 games and averaged 30/12. Comparable to Powe with a jumper and might be a little bigger.

I can tell the Celtics have been laying back a bit the last few weeks, probably due to being short-handed. The sense of urgency should return fairly quickly now. Without KG, the urgency got that much greater.

There's always the chance that both Kobe and Lebron will go down in the playoffs. I'm not hoping it happens, but that would at least make it a fair fight.

Dude, where have you been. KG is a faker and a panty. I wish he were healthy, and frankly I think he's faking just like Pierce got carried off the floor last year.

Don't forget lame celtics fans, "ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!"  P*ssies.
