Know Doc & Co see a lot more of Pruitt than I do; but can help thinking this Marbury experiment is setting him (and potentially the team) back a bit in terms of Pruitt's long term development. As much as I like what Marbury can do in terms of setting the table, his D has not been anywhere near Pruitt's. Got to think it is a draw so far unless Marbury can start shooting with some consistency. Teams will just sag off him and force him to shoot.

Is Pruitt a long term prospect or does this single his final days as a Celtic? At least he seems to be playing with more urgency (or maybe it is just the Nick Young factor).

Its gotta be Pruitt becuase he's younger and Marbury will earn a starting contract somewhere, but i don't think he's the backup PG for the future.

Pruitt isnt playing cause he never solidified a role on this team...he wouldnt have played much and certainly not in the playoffs regardless of the Marbury acqusition.

They felt like they had to get marbury because gabe obviously isnt ready in their minds, and I dont think they have too many future plans for him either

obviously starbury is a better player, both now and long term IMO.

I don't question steph's skills as a bench player, i question how long he can stay focused mentally without being the alpha dog.

I dont think steph can play the role he's currently playing long term.

I dont think steph has really shown a team that he's worth a starting contract. He may get one, but i don't think he's blown anyone away like he was hoping.

the NBA has some of the worst GM's in all sports. He'll get a contract.

Pruitt's long term development isn't an important issue

Which backup guard gives the team a better chance of winning in the playoffs is an important issue.

How about neither. i don't think Pruitt is good enough and I don't think Marbury stays.

Pruitt is hardly a NBA level talent.

Completely agreed, if we can get Marbury to stay it has to be him.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

  • There can only be one.
Out of bias, Marbury, for sure. He even said he'd stay if Doc would like him to, according to an article.

Totally agree, just don't think it'll happen.

hit it on the head
pruitt was showing good things before marbury
his outside range and d are better than marbury but he doesn't seem to have the leadership quality/confidence
i think ultimately with a pg at rondos age we need a wily vet to back him up
if pruitt can stay here cheap i can see him being backup pg and sg

If pruitt was showing anything before Marbury got here, Marbury never would have gotten here.
I dont know about some of the people calling Gabe a good shooter or defender...hes neither, he shot an abysmal 30% from the field and 29% from 3, worse then a guy who was out of the league over a year, and quite frankly Marbury has shown a willingness to defend, and better then pruitt

MArbury minutes this season: 414
Pruitt: 366
And Pruitt shot a worse % then a guy out of the league over a year and has almost 40 less assists...newsflash: he stinks

Neither, actually.

Steph will get a deal elsewhere, and he's not going to want to stay in Boston for dumpster pay.

Pruitt is yet another Celtics Internet myth - good shooter and defender, not quite, as pointed out above. He's consistently mediocre and I'd like to think we can either draft or sign above him.
Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."
