So what exactly happened today?

This game was horrible. For most of the game, we weren't even there. The bench seemed to show the most heart throughout the whole game. The starters were sleepy from the looks of things.

The Cavs aren't good enough, and we aren't bad enough for them to get a 30+ lead on us. Things don't add up.

And as meaningless as this game was, WHY would you just throw it out? Now these fools have a chance to tie our home record.

I regarded this as an ECF preview game, but with our performance, I hope we don't play like this during the Playoffs.

I'm just curious as to what was going through the players' minds. There was no legitimate reason to throw this game out, so why do it?

Meaningless game, meaningless loss. No way the C'S are going to bring that kind of effort in the playoffs. And of course we will get Garnett back and possibly Leon Powe as too. Let the Cavs dance around after this win we'll get them back when it counts.

No big deal.  Cleveland has to continue to win because of the Lakers.  So the game had more meaning for the Cavs.  Also, the pressure is also on Cleveland because they cannot lose to the Cs at home, especially when the Cs are so shorthanded.

It's also a holiday, and the Magic lost two in a row to give second place to the Cs.

The setting was perfect for this outcome.

Thats the mins played and # rebounds for our starters vs Cleveland's. Its pretty awful either way you slice the pie.

I agree with you...give the starters, especially Ray and Paul, the next 2 games off.  Everything is clinched that can be clinched, there's no reason to play them.  At least give them the next game off, and play them the last game to get a rhythm with KG in there.

Either way, I'll be happy with that.

it is what it is....i give the cavs some credit but often you are ot as good as you think you are and you are not as bad as you think you are....i just think boston has played hard the last 11 games and just was too flat...esp when they have ZERO to play for....now it the time to get powe and KG back in the rotation

First, pp and ra were trying to do too much on their own early on. 

Second and related, rondo did nothing early on, probably because of the first thing and not having the ball, but for whatever reason they were not working the offense through rondo.

Lastly, and most important, I have never seen so many shots that are our shots, good shots, RA 3's, pp at the rim, PP 3's, rondo's new elbow jumper, perk around the rim, etc that didn't fall.  I watched nearly the whole wretched affair and I was shocked by that aspect.  We just could not get the ball in the hole and I am worried that it might be the cavs d and especially their length that caused this.

Also, as much as I have always loved pp, sunday day games don't really seem to be his thing.

Oh, and rebounds, we need all our better bigs just to mitigate the size/rebounding advantage that cleveland has on us.
