  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
KG didn't play.

he played in those 5 games in cleveland last year we lost, and also was completly healthy when we got blown out in cleveland earlier this season....

this team can beat the cavs without KG, and already have...thats NOT excuse enough for todays performance

Look at the rebound comparison...Big Z had as many boards as baby and Perkins together. KG changes that. I don't know how much better we'd do in the playoffs as far as rebounding goes without KG.

I agree missing him isn't an excuse, because you should never really have an excuse to lose. Either you did or you didnt...you know? I do think though that this shows how much of a better team we are with him on the floor.

We're a better team with a healthy Kendrick Perkins and Rajon rondo too, the bottom line is KGs not healthy..gotta win or at least be competive without him, and not use him as an excuse...I personally dont think we're a bit more competive with him on the floor today...sorry I just dont, ive seen us get blown out with him in cleveland, so to me its a moot point

NO loss is meaningless. In the last week of the season, I expect the defending champs to show up more than they did today.

Face it. Cleveland - if we get to them - will not be an easy out.

Was anyone predicting a sweep?

Yeh, really.  They weren't easy last, why would they be this year?

I was about to go watch the game on Tivo, but I don;t think I'll bother  :(

Was anyone predicting the defending champs would fall totally on their face? All the alibis in this thread are sweet, but they fail to take account a basic tenet of team sports: No game is meaningless, and championship teams don't treat them as such. One team didn't today, and it wasn't the Celtics.

Mount up all the excuses you can muster, but the fact is simple: The regular season is over and the Celtics are laboring on the floor in many facets of the game.. You don't step into the playoffs, flip a switch and start playing like champions.

nobody beats the Cavs at home.  Celtics haven't done it either.

But hopefully we can shock them if we get that far in the playoffs.  No worries.

I saw Cleveland get blown out without KG playing as well. It doesn't mean much in the postseason for either team. To me it is pretty much a tie. What I worry about is when it is a close game in the playoffs with the 'Lebron rules' come into effect.

A regulars season game where there is no fighting for seeding and the playoff seeds are set that is about as close to meaningless that I can think of. Celtics will be fine.

We got the effin doors blown off, dude.

Something about Sundays.... plus it was at the Q....
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

That I do agree with.

I agree with none of it. It's flippin' KG. I don't care who we beat without him or who we didn't beat, or how we did in the past with him. Fact of the matter is KG is the heart and soul of this team, just because other guys have stepped up in his stead that does nothing to change this. Last year all we heard was the difference he makes to the team, how he's in some ways the true MVP of the league, how his intensity ensures that the team will not come out flat. It's Kevin Garnett. It's playoff time. They have 65 plus wins. Shake your head. Glen Davis is a NOBODY. Kevin Garnett is EVERYTHING. If the C's won 20 in a row without him it wouldn't change a that. The same as the Rockets winning Streak last year without Yao, whoopdie-do, they still got pounded in the playoffs. This was a nationally televised game circled on the schedule all season long. I can't believe so many people are thinking we have a hope in hell without him at close to full capacity, we don't, not at all, never have, never will, and this is the closest thing to a playoff game you're going to get during the regular season this year against a team that can definitely shatter the repeat, and at this rate, probably will. Hence, a loss. On paper without KG they're better, defensively without KG they're better, offensively without KG they're better, intensity wise without KG they're better, etc., etc. At this state in the season the Lakers would have delivered a pounding as well. I'm glad they came out flat, competing would have been a waste of energy. Play catchup in round 1, not now, not against the superfreak.

I watched 3 minutes of this game and 5 hours of the Masters. I'm glad I did.

I played in a internet chess tournament, too.

  • There can only be one.
By the way...does Anderson V have testicles?  I think Ray answered that for us today.  Not even a flinch?  BBD hits him in Boston across the wig and he is dying.  Ray Ray elbows him in the nads and nothing?  Wow.
I laughed so hard. TP, sir.
