We have the 2nd and thats great, but this game today needs to be played like our lives depend on it. We need to approach this like its a playoff game. I don't think anyone is fooling themselves when they say we will face the Cavs in the ECF. Winning today I believe will make a statement and go along way in building momentum going into the playoffs. We need the knowledge that we can beat them in their house. I know it will be extreamly hard without KG, but I believe we can pull it off.

Now for the "I hate to bring this up" part for you New Englanders. I believe one of the reasons the Giants beat the Patriots is because of how they played that final regular season game. They didn't win of course, but it gave them hope and the reason to believe that they coud beat a excellent team. I look at this game in sort of the same light. We have time to rest our guys after this, but we only have one last shot at the Cavs before the ECF. Lets make a statement and leave them wondering whats going to happen when they play us at full strength. A win today and this will make the Cavs play tight, and a little nervous.

I totally agree with you, I had this theory a month ago, that if the C's lose today in Cleveland the Cavaliers will just feel more invincible at home and then get shocked in the playoffs. It was already the case when the blew out the Celtics in Cleveland this season, by the way they were celebrating you'd thought they had just won the championship.

Still, we all know that Doc is going to play the starters for about the entire game (if it's a close game) so a win would be good for our guys' confidence. Yes, they say they can win anywhere but still it helps to have done it before. Plus, the Celtics' home record is in danger, and it should be protected (ok, it's not as important as a game won in Cleveland in the playoffs).

However, I hope that Turkoglu's sprain will show Doc that he's got to be cautious and rest his starters to avoid fatigue or an injury.

At first I was thinking, no way, we have to try to really stick it to Cleveland. Then I read the comment about Hedo's ankle and I realized, yeah, it's more important to make sure everyone's healthy so we can beat Cleveland in the playoffs. Actually though, I still think we win in Cleveland without KG!

I think that in this game we really have nothing to lose. I also think that a win would become a lot more revelant than a loss. Being up 2-1 in the season series i think gives us this advantage. If we were down 2-1 in the series i would put more stock into this game just because I think it would be important mentally to even up the series. I know the regular season doesn't mean a whole lot compared to the playoffs but it can't feel good if you face a team in the post season that you had a losing record against. Thats why i feel like if we win this game it's almost like a bonus because we would beat them on their home court, we would beat them without KG and Powe and we would continue to roll through the end of the regular season on a very positive note going into the playoffs. On the other hand if we lose I don't think it's that big a deal because the Cavs are only tying up the season series, we are not at full strength, and we have already clinched are seed. Cleveland is still playing for the best record in the league along with tying the all-time home record for regular season, which i think they would go all at for even if they had clinched the best record.

The thing is freak injuries can happen like this no matter what. Anyone can get injured during the game it's something you can't really control. If you think these guys are getting to burnt out before the playoffs than maybe limit there minutes. But injuries are freak things and it can't be something you base playing time on. I think they just need to treat this game like any other game. If someone has a nagging injury or something let them sit but if not let then play to win like every other game that we play.

I personally think cleveland needs this loss, and if they do would definetly beat us in the playoffs, sorry... think of how bitter they would be, that we ruined there chances to tie the all-time home record, and how much more focused they would potentially be to face us come the playoffs. if they win today, they get even more overconfident and hopefully we can catch them off guard in the playoffs...they'll be none of that if we win today, they'll know we can beat them at home and wouldnt let it happen again...
