Why wasn't he in at the end? We would've won if he was in instead of big bagy trying to be god in there towards the end. KG's fine and a few more minutes definitly wouldnt hurt. If we can come back strong then we could've taken the number one seed if the cavs fell in a slump. Plus we'd have scal and TA and leon coming back for the playoffs. By the way i am in no way giving up on this season haha. i just dont get doc sometimes anyone else feel the same?

because Doc feels he can't play 3 minutes late in a game when it counts....

C'mon now, rules are rules.  We can't break them, now can we? ::)

I was just about to start a thread about this.

Obviously, KG can play right now. So my question is, WHY THE HELL WAS HE NOT IN THE GAME WITH 2 MINUTES TO GO WHEN THE CELTICS GOT IT CLOSE?!?!?!?!

Very, very frustrating to see Doc treat this "like any normal game" when it really wasn't just another game... It was HUGE for the Magic, which means it was huge for the celts as well.

Stubborn, Stubborn, Stubborn.

  • The good ole days.
I do think the rigid rules Doc has set are a little bit unnecessary considering the magnitude of this game...

well going through detroit...at orlando and at cleveland is a tough stretch for any team in the playoffs...home court could easy that...i understand limited minutes...but sooner or later you gotta start putting him in the Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. to see if he can do it...this 16 minutes a game vs good teams doesn't tell us much....esp in games where he can help the outcome with a late defensive stop and rebound....3 minutes....we talkin bout 3 minutes!! what we talkin bout? 3 minutes!!

In Doc's defense, KG did not look quite right even in the first quarter. He was still favoring his knee. Also, right before the Celtics started cutting into 16 point lead, Grande and Max mentioned that KG looked very uncomfortable out there before Doc took him out during the timeout.

IMHO, I though Doc made the right call. You never know with knee sprains and you're better off being safe than sorry. In the grand scheme of things, this game meant little compared to what could have happened.

this is what scares me the most...if KG can't heal close to 100 percent by playoff time...

I'm with you on this one. My feelings from that period when it seemed someone would get injured every game was that I'd take a loss over the risk of a win+injury.

He could have afforded 3 more minutes to give his teammates a psychological lift in the ending of the 4th imo. The fact he sat and looked on was distasteful, and Doc wouldn't have physically barred his path to going back in. McHale ran on a broken foot all 87' and Parish's ankles were blown out and Larry's back was shot. Each would rather die then lose and they made it to the finals. I'm not saying he should have played the game, but he should have came in to give an emotional uplift ending of the 4th.

Can always count on cordobes to come through in the clutch.  Thanks, sir.

Can't agree anymore with cordobes and Steve here. the short term memory of Celtics fans at this blog is actually quite funny sometimes. Doc is sticking to his guns and keeping Ray's, Pierce's and Perk's and Rondo's minutes in lower more acceptable levels and is slowly bringing KG back while integrating Moore and Marbury in.

Did anyone really expect for Doc to do all those things and still come out with a record of 13-2 or 12-3 which would have kept us on a pace to still be within strinking distance of Cleveland?

TP's to cor and Steve for the sanity.
