Doc makes some pretty serious comments tonight about the refs and him being thrown out of the game.

He said that the technical he got that threw him out was the "most unprofessional technical he has ever gotten". I have never seen Doc do this before, and it seems like he may have a case.

I want to see the replay of this. He started off his comments with this, so he planned on saying it. The ref that gave him the T at the end was Bill Kennedy.

I hope Doc has his check book out.  I am sure this game is going to cost him money.

I won't be surprised if he's fined more than the last time. Heaven forbid anyone call out the officiating with the playoffs approaching.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

Good for Doc. We've seen some terrible reffing against us.

Why does Doc get fined but Mike Brown complains in the media and runs out to half court 25 times again if somebody breathes on Lebron and nothing?

Tommy was going ballistic, saying pretty much the same thing.  It seemed like the ref was trying to prove that he was a tough guy.

“I don’t usually go this route, but the technical I got thrown out (on) was the most unprofessional tech by a ref I’ve ever had,” Rivers said. “He stood there and he goaded me and he goaded me and stared at me. Look at the film. I actually walked away. He asked me, ‘Where do you want the ball?’ And I said, ‘Ask them,’ talking about our players. That’s my right to say that, and I walked away. He stood there and stared me down and stared me down and goaded me until I turned around and said, ‘What?’ That’s what I got thrown out of the game for in a (five)-point game. Think about that. Think about that play that Bill Kennedy made. That is the most unprofessional tech I’ve ever had.”

is it just me or have people been complaining about refs more this year than in past years?  not just doc and c's fans, i feel like a lot of coaches have.. maybe i've just been playing more attention.

if you ask me, an overhaul of the system is needed.  enough with the 70 year olds trying to run up and down the court, enough with the guys with gambling problems.. jeez.

The reason folks are complaining is that the officiating has gotten worse, not better.  Just wait until the playoffs.  You can be sure that the officials will do everything in their power to help LeBron breeze through to the NBA finals.

As for the technicals at the end of last night's game, what's so unusual about a martinet using power to mask his incompetence?  That's par for the course in the NBA.

I also wonder if Doc isn't fishing for the intensity that this team has lost. Terrible, terrible defense last night. Late I can understand, given the situation. Early? Just unacceptable.

Not suprising to me at all, we haven't had that defensive swagger since KG went down. just look at the PPG we give up, 14 higher without him.

This pretty much proves that while tibs is a big part of our defense, KG is the main reason we are so good at it, not some master scheme. without our defensive QB in there, our defense is good at its best. guys still try to give effort, but guys are funnled the wrong way, mix ups go on, ect.

We need KG back there running the show at full strength ASAP, or we aren't going to ge ta chance to see CLEV.

No, it's not surprising. Happens to the majority of teams who lose a key defender.

The problem it creates is getting the defensive intensity back. I'm not a believer at all in the notion that you can flip a switch and say, "OK, we're intense again." That's actually pretty rare.

KG's biggest challenge getting back may not be physical at all, actually.

One thing I don't think we will ever have to worry about is KG missing Intensity. He cant calm down. So once hes healthy I'm sure he will come back with a vengeance I'm just worried that we will burn out Paul and ray before he even has a  chance to get the team riled up again. But I think we should start looking at the Spurs play book and worry about health above seeding in the playoffs.
"Sam Cassell was heckling on the sideline when I walked down, He looked at me and was like, ‘You're getting the ball, I know you're getting the ball!'
said Allen.

And did Cassell, a man of many words, have anything to say after that?

"No, I told him he needed to wear a tie."

crownsy,

I can't agree with you.  Celtics were playing just fine without KG, until everyone else got injured.

The officiating stinks big time, everywhere.  As I recall, Mike Brown has been fined as well...

check out the game logs. We have allowed more ppg, and the most 100+ games that we have all season sicne KG went down.

you are right that we were outscoring teams, and injuries hurt that, but our D has been average at best for quite some time now.
