I do. As I look around the blog more and more I see mandatory I hate Lebron statements. Sure, he's a Cav, beyond that, he does everything right. Now, unless you're an idealist with no appreciation for what it would be like to be in his shoes, fine, there are plenty of reasons to not like him, but to be in his position, STUD.

He wants to be the first athelete billionaire. He manages himself with his own boys. He rules NYC. He rolls with Jay-Z. He never takes a night off. His game gets far better every year. He pays more attention to defense every year. He's prudently selfish on the floor. He doesn't run his mouth. He's not a cowering pansy to the media, he'll actually speak his mind, often going against the status quo. The Knicks thing was him being truthful and to anyone that was petty enough to think that mattered they don't exactly seem to be limping through this season because of it. He makes his teammates (way) better. He's a freak. He stretches the rules to get the most out of them, like all the greats surely do. He rocks GQ covers. He's the 2010 slam dunk champion.

What does Tiger do that makes him so beloved while so many Celitcs fans have to dog Lebron? He's the prototypical modern day athelete. He wasn't brought up on rape charges. He didn't call out his teammates or have a running feud with his coach or management. He plays the game to do whatever it takes to win a championship while trying to take over the universe as anyone with a head on his shoulders surely should. There's only one Larry Bird, not that many people in this world are willing to dedicate their lives to a sport.

If it's the Yankees hat, fine, I know what site this is, and if it's the fact that he's going to be a nightmare for us for the next decade, good reasons. Beyond that, I just don't get it.

Most of you loved MJ, I love Lebron, after Paul, KG, Ray, etc.

I really am tired enough that for a moment I thought this was a thread about President Johnson.

I'd be fine with LBJ if he wasn't such a threat to the Cs.  The only thing I have against him personally is that he looks old enough to be my dad when he's really my age.  What's up with that?

my hatred is purely competition based.  I hate any players that give the celtics problems.  Period.

I have no personal beef with Lebron though.  He can seem arrogant at times but so do many high profile athletes.  He doesnt beat his wife/girlfriend, he doesnt drive drunk, get caught with guns, etc.  So in my book the guy is good for the sport even though hes wearing the wrong uniform, but KG got it right eventually, maybe Lebron will one day.  :)

Well he hasn't started playing in NYC yet so he still has time to do all those things. He is still young afterall.

He's TOO corporate. It's like he only wants to win because it's good for his image. He absolutely does not have the killer instinct Jordan has always possessed. Fans know that, which is one reason why LeBron hasn't been the marketing maven Jordan was. He came in the league his rookie year with a sense of entitlement for superstar calls.. Jordan didn't really get them (at least to the extent LeBron does) until he was in his 30's.

As far as Tiger v. LeBron goes, Tiger has the killer instinct as well.. he's just more likeable. LeBron is contrived.

Part of what was amazing about Jordan/Tiger is that they're so dominating, and yet, very well liked. That's rare for a really good athlete. LeBron doesn't have that.

I wish him the best as an individual, because he's great for the league, but he is not and will never be what Jordan/Tiger is/was.

Maybe here in Boston he doesn't have that love but across the nation kids LOVE the guy. I mean LOVE the guy. He's huge with the under 18 crowd, especially in the urban areas.

I think a lot of Celtic fans are jealous of that other player who gets more recognition than say our own Celtic guys.

He's unbelievably good.  He's by far the most dominant player in the game.  What he's able to do is just stunning.  And he can defeat the Celtics by himself on any given night.  Definitely deserves respect.  He came 5 points from defeating us last year when his team was significantly worse and our team was arguably a lot better.  I know he's our biggest threat, but I can't deny how incredible he is.

I also love LBJ..

one thing that lets me hate him is when he is against PAUL PIERCE's BOSTON CELTICS... I am with Paul as the best SF in this league...
